I have the 4K/UHD pre-ordered. It's a crazy movie with an epic soundtrack. It's a little all over the place but if you grew up with it, it's important. You probably had to be there. I can't imagine it being good unless you are a fan or like butt rock.

Glad I got to see that in the theaters when I was a kid. Kinda' sucks, though. It was a sendoff of sorts. The animation and characters for seasons 3 and 4 were terrible. The new toy line (after he movie) was conceived and designed by Hasbro, so the product suffered. The Marvel comics got batshit crazy, too.

Movie made me sad as shit as a kid. Hero's die and no such thing as karma

The 80s must have been the greatest time ever to be a kid. Damn.
It was awesome, but there were a lot of groups that were trying to cancel all the awesome stuff of the time. Watchdog groups alleging that all the awesome cartoons of the 80's were making kids violent, etc.

"Arise Rodimus Prime". Still gives goosebumps
Yes, viewing it as a adult the story is pretty straight forward and it's clear where, who & what the story was going to be. But as a kid, holy shit did I disliked Hotrod for about an hour in, mainly due to the fuckup he did in the beginning of the movie. It's pretty dark for kids movie, but other than that the redemption and revenge you could say was satisfying. I really like the scene when Megatron gives himself up, killed and resurrected into a straight savage, just hunting and killing fools. If only Bays movies had this much heart that this animated film had.

A lot of people preferred Simon Furman's take on the Transformers over Bob Budiansky's. Not that I'm necessarily one of them; actually, I prefer the G1 cartoon over Budiansky or Furman, though between the two I'd take Budiansky's run. I think I'd go with the G1 cartoon and the Dreamwave comics based on G1 as my favorite iterations of the Transformers, probably. I actually liked season 3, especially Return of Optimus Prime. But I thought there were a number of other excellent episodes, like ''Only Human", that featured Cobra Commander, or the stuff with the ghost of Starscream. Season 4 was awful though, no argument there.

I only read a bit of Furman's stuff. I lost a great deal of interest while Budiansky was still writing. I held on for about a year after issue #24. They had a good amount of time to come up with a good story to address and deliver Prime's death, but it was such a horrible story that was carried out in one issue. This issue came out in January, and the Return of Optimus Prime episode aired in February of the same year. They could have left things alone. However, I did like the storyline of Blaster going rogue when Grimlock took over in the comics.

Yeah, "Only Human" was great.

What about "Gone But Not Forgotten", the issue where Megatron is consumed by his paranoia over Optimus Prime returning? I thought that was pretty sweet and it started the Transformers tradition of Megatron fighting the Predacons. I thought the idea of Grimlock taking over was a pretty cool idea and I agree that the storyline with Blaster was pretty interesting. I suppose it is probably true that Budiansky lost his way somewhat before Furman took over, but I still tend to prefer his run. Furman is 100-times better than what passes for comic writing these days, but he just got too hung up on minutia and long-winded explanations IMO, if that makes any sense.

I really need go back and finish the series. I never finished G.I. Joe, too. I quit a bit after the Cobra Civil War.

I've never seen this film and really don't have the urge to see it but Sept 26 (Sunday) and Sept 28 (Tuesday) are the 2 days the movie will be rereleased in theaters for their 35th anniversary

If you were born post 90, i forgive you for not wanting to watch this. Growing up as a kid in the 80s, if you didnt watch this you legit got ridiculed, outcasted and possibly beat down. We bled for Transformers. I was considering taking a hit out on Michael Bay for nearly single handedly ruining it with his trash films.

If i dont get the option to go an see in this in the UK cinema's i am going to be pissed.
