There have been a lot of big wins in MMA history but are the biggest?. And by biggest I mean those that carried the most value at the time and magnitude of the moment.

Heres what I came up with off the top of my head:

1. Werdum > Fedor
2. Weidman > Anderson
3. Penn > Hughes
4. Holm > Rousey
5. McGregor > Aldo
6. Serra > GSP
7. Saku > Royce
8. Rampage > Chuck 2
9. Couture > Sylvia
10. Gonzaga > Cro Cop

Honorable Mentions:

Fedor > Nog
Edgar > Penn
Shogun > Lyoto
Brown > Faber
Dillashaw > Barao
Cyborg > Gina
Smith > Coleman
GSP > Hardy

I'm sure there are several I'm missing. Agree? Disagree? Discuss.

Good looking list though. Wand over Rampage in Pride sticks out to me as well.

I don't know if this fits your bill but I'd say Lesnar > Mir deserves a mention.

Only thing I would change in your list is dropping the Rousey Holm fight down a few slots.

Fedor > Crocop?

I think Dillashaw>Barao should definitely be in the top 10.

GSP > Hughes was a big win as well IMO. And maybe the 2nd Penn fight as well.

Rampage over Chuck 2 was probably bigger for Rampage's career than it was in real MMA significance. He'd already beat him once

Well they can't be "big" if you knew they were going to happen.

Edgar was/is years ahead of Penn.
Everybody knew Cyborg was gonna destroy Gina.
Gonzaga had a great chance against CC it was just the way he actually won.
Rousey tapped out at the press conference and Holm is a multi champion...then Rousey tried to beat her at her game?
Rampage was expected to beat Chuck again.

Wand over Rampage does deserve a mention. Both fights actually.

I'm not sure about Lesnar > Mir tho. Although the win was impressive and the moment was significant I don't see Mir as carrying high enough value as a win. It's valuable but not quite like beating one of the GOATs or other dominant guys on the list.

I dunno man...that fight was huge. Holly beat the biggest mainstream UFC fighter of all time at her peak who also happened to be a 6x defending world champion and WMMA GOAT. One of the biggest moments in all of mainstream culture last year.

Holms win signifies a multi sport champion and the first to hold world titles in boxing & MMA, it definitely deserves to be on the list, not to mention it was a huge upset infront of a record setting attendance and 1.1 million people watching at home.

How is Jones over DC not even on honorable mention? DC was an Olympic medalist who was an undefeated Heavyweight.

I may be a little bias but Cruz over Dillashaw deserves a mention, Dom got hurt was on the sidelines for years, came back and won, got hurt again and then came back to beat the guy who emulated his style and won the belt in his absence. For every thing Dom had to overcome that was a great moment.

You're missing the point imo. You have to look at these wins in terms of value. Even if you called the win beforehand doesn't diminish the value of it.

For instance you may have knew Edgar was going to beat BJ Penn. Ok, but at the time the vast majority of people didn't. At the time BJ was the 3x defending UFC LW champion who was destroying his LW opponents. He was being legitimately brought up in GOAT discussions. Getting a win over that guy at that time is an extremely valuable.

I'm the quickest person to point out that Anderson was goofing off against Weidman and felt Silva had a loss coming due to his age and nature of the sport at that time anyway. But at the end of the day it was a legitimate win against the most dominant champion in MMA history and shocked everyone. Gotta give credit for that.

Jones > Shogun maybe?

champ got dominated bell-to-bell, and led to a crazy title run over the next few years...
