The Strickland vs duplessis card is extremely weak.

Most of them are on the prelims. So, what are you crying about?

I'm not crying about anything, my unnecessarily defensive friend.

I was merely pointing out that the line 'this is a card for Canadians' was a stupid talking point to defend the quality of a PPV card which is being sold globally and which everyone can see is shit.

Basically all Canadian and Australian cards suck. And it's not because they are 'for' Australians and Canadians, it's because the UFC knows it can get dupe them into paying for glorified regional cards.

The UFC knows foreign cards tend not to do well in the US, so it relies on the main events to sell and doesn't want to waste undercard talent on them.

DeSean is a draw. Canadians will eat it up. They are so used to cuck boi tredeau up there that a good ol American bad ass like Strickland is just what they want.

Maybe DeSean will come out in black face... I mean war paint like poatan.
Such a draw that they have to discount the PPV. <Lmaoo>

This a fight night card plain and simple. If I were Canadian I'd be pissed. Tell Dana to shove it by not attending for the outrageous prices. I think Mallot is a good prospect but he's not the guy you throw in a main card slot and wipe your hands clean of everything else. This card is ass as a PPV by itself.

It really is crap, considering the 80 plus ESPN sub asking price.

90 plus tax for one good fight, that's so ridiculous.

It was pretty decent at one point in time. Fuck Canada, anyway

Other than the main event, this is basically a FN card.
Well I think we're all abit spoiled lately lol,

Evloev vs Allen was a great top fight,

Recall, that 2 LHW fights that waere good got cancelled too.

UFC are basically relying on Striclland and du Plessis to sell the whole card and I think they'll give it their best shot.
They seem to be doing ok at it. Expect some nice smack talking and pissed-off staredowns at the pre-fight presser, and faceoffs etc.

PPV sales are not that big for any card these days, the UFC business model has changed somewhat with the advent of ESPN etc etc and their guaranteed $$$.

I think they see Sean Strickland as a transitional champ who will lose his next fight but see a lot more promise in O'Malley, thus they are stacking his card.

Not a bad theory sir.
Honestly never thought about it that way.

You can thank ESPN for paying UFC as if every PPV card automatically gets 320k buys. Keep in mind, before UFC signed that deal, they were routinely getting well under 100k buys. Now EVERY PPV automatically gets paid like they are getting a mininum of 320k and then anything after that is gravy.

There's no incentive for them to stack cards anymore.

Sometimes these are the cards where every fight is a banger, KO , War or Submission. Ya never know. Thank the mma gods for streaming lol

it is a card for Canada with 8 canadian fighters

so the canadian fans will get excited for sure
the same way they do with UK & Brazilian cards
Wrong. I'm Canadian and this card is absolute dog shit.

It's not so much that Belanos came up short

Everybody comes up short against Assy Mcgee. That's the beginning and end of the story. Gaston was in the wrong place at the wrong time
