Dana was very vocal about GSP losing the fight against 70% Johny.
Somewhere, I read that GSP and others get paid more with each defense of the title - which makes sense.
GSP had defended it a whole lot of times and in comes a close fight, of course Dana wants new blood and more snow in his drive-in.

Thus lying about straight to the hospital and so on.

Sending guys straight to the hospital doesnt change the result. It doesnt save ufc money.

Im not sure i get your point is my point.

The point is that Dana lied that GSP went straight to the hospital and he took one side.
GSP showed up while the UFC crew were trying to stop him from going to the post fight presser

K. But how does that equate to saving money?

I think Dana was just pissed because he retired. He wanted to keep the cash cow around and threw a fit

Danas way of dealing with the situation was publicly bashing Georges, I guess trying to set up a rematch? Just seeing $$ and being a dick

Trying to make the multi-defending champ winning a decision fishy.
It was wishful thinking. Had GSP lost and kept on fighting, they would have had to pay him less money.

He hadn't retired at that point.
It was right after the fight.

Shit was going down behind the scenes between GSP and Zuffa at that time.

The narrative that Hendricks beat GSP is a lot stronger if GSP is sent straight to the hospital and isn't able to answer any questions.
Instead GSP showed up, was able to give his side of the story, and seemed fine.

Exactly.
And Dana taking such a stance against a dominant champion was odd.

Dana was mad GSP retired and wanted to make him look bad. He also stole GSP's belt while he was in the shower. Basically it was all Dana throwing a hissy fit.

"Dana does what will serve him best,” St-Pierre said. “To serve him best in that situation was he doesn't like when people leave with the belt and I understand, business-wise it's not good. Dana does what is good for his own interests and I do what is best for my own interests."

It was all weird.
Even GSP said that some people tried to stop him to go to the post fight presser, so it was obviously planned out.

He hinted at retirement in the cage postfight
The way Dana and the UFC handled things is why GSP stayed away so long.

"I'm going to tell you the truth. If this whole thing had not happened after the fight... maybe I would have already been back and maybe I would have given the rematch to Johny Hendricks," he said.

The 34-year-old claims a backstage employee told him not to attend the press conference, which sent alarm bells ringing in his head.

"I say why? 'You know, you're not allowed to go, it's OK.' Then I understood, hm, something weird is going on."

Georges attended the press conference and believes Dana White could have handled the situation with better class. The Tristar standout had been one of the company's longest reigning champions and headlined some of the most successful PPV's in UFC history.

"And then I found out Dana was saying I was gone to hospital and I was badly hurt. I was like, what is wrong with this? Because I didn't know what was going on. I understand Dana was pissed because I was leaving with the belt. I got it. But he could have done it with a bit of better class, you know?"

A big part of why GSP stayed away ties into a rumor that I heard from someone out of Tri-Star about a certain fighter GSP had proof was taking steroids and the UFC refused to do anything.

It was all designed to make GSP look bad and it backfired on them.
Looks like that to me.
GSP seems like a super honest person and he would hardly mention the scenario at the back, unless it was really odd.
