I´m not sure how many of you guys know this, so I thought I´d share this story when Big Nog saved Silva's career.

Silva said:
"We always fought in rival team (chute boxe and brazilian top team) , but I had a lot of respect and admiration for both the Nogueira brothers. Because of Pride, we used to meet in Japan and I always rooted for them. At a certain point in my life, they ended up helping me tremendously without even knowing me that well."
"I had just left my team Chute Boxe because of "politics" and I wasn´t happy. The team said they "had to choose" between me and another guy, and they chose the other guy. But Rodrigo (Big Nog) stood by me. His contract with Pride was about to end, and when he went to talk to the president, they said he had to choose between "renewing his contract or putting Silva to fight". And Big Nog chose me. I was about to give up fighting and the Nogueira brothers said they would help me. Only after that things started to work out well for me."
Big Nog gives a little more details in another interview:

"There was a moment when Silva had lost all motivation. So one day I got this call from my cousin "Hey, Rodrigo, that fighter Anderson Silva, showed up here in our gym asking for a job giving bjj classes replacing the bjj instructor who left." And I thought "Anderson Silva wants to teach bjj at a regular gym?" So I talked to my brother and my cousin and we decided I should go talk to Silva and help him come back to fighting. So I canceled all my appointments got in a plane and went to Curitiba to talk to him."
Thanks, Big Nog!!!
