The Simpsons Was Always Overrated as Hell.

Solid thread. Wholeheartedly agree.

Think I enjoyed it for a few months as a child and that's it.

I was always sort of meh on The Simpsons. But, I also don't dig on AD or FG either.

I like SP though.

Its not as good anymore and some episodes are cringe but overall its a good show. It has so many classic characters and episodes.

I stiill enjoy it but I prefer Rick and Morty or American Dad. Family Guy is good too, Id watch it over the simpsons also

The best of the Simpsons is much better than anything McFarlane has done.

Family Guy was top notch shit for numerous seasons before everyone decided to become a hipster and shit on it. It was relevant and funny way longer than the simpsons was. American Dad is still relevant and well received to this day. Sorry bud, you're totally wrong here.

Never actually seen Rick and Morty but I've heard a lot about it.

This clip alone is better than anything family guy has ever done. But you knew that.

This is how you do satire that is both funny and meaningful.

The Simpson's was great in it's time. TBH I haven't watched it since I was a kid, and stopped watching around season 10 or so. I know the quality dropped off around then.

So it may be fair to say that it was great in the same way that Royce Gracie was great, or Matt Hughes. They were great for the time, and should be respected for what they contributed to the game, it's not fair to view them in a modern context.

@Arkridge confirmed under 25, for shame.

When Conan O’Brien was writing for the Simpsons it was the funniest show on the planet.

Just because American Dad is on the air doesn't mean it's relevant. I wouldn't call the Simpsons relevant anymore yet they regularly outperform both American Dad and Family Guy in the ratings, let alone what they pulled in their prime.

American Dad has never really been relevant. Family Guy was for a while but not as long as the Simpsons and certainly not now.

I've never enjoyed a single moment of the simpsons, like I did the Tears of Unfathomable Sadness part of the South Park Scott Tenerman episode

my favorite animated show, probably alone on this, is The Life and Times of Tim from HBO
