The significance of Islam submitting Charles

There were many guys saying that Oliveira's defensive grappling isn't good. He got submitted for the 4th time.
Just that his offensive grappling is good.

This was my take too.

But overall, I think it's relevant that Olivera's offense is much better than his defense in both BJJ and striking. He's been tapped by Miller, Pettis, and Lamas in the past.

The thing that's served Olivera so well recently is that he's had NO quit in him. He's been aggressive, and game as hell. He's recovered from shots incredibly quickly. I fully expected him to have a striking advantage and to stay in the fight if he got in trouble.

Islam had no problems with Olivera's offence or recovery. That was pretty shocking to me.
Shocking is correct. I thought he would just shoot immediately and not even try to strike. The way he lit Charles up is impressive.

To be fair Charles was fighting very recklessly, usually is a lot more calculated and technical. I think a rematch whenever it happens will be more competitive (maybe) and Charles wont fight the same way. He probably thought Islam was nowhere near his level on the feet and he paid dearly for it.
Man do people actually watch Charles's fights? He is usually more reckless with constant pressure and strikes, he couldn't just pressure Islam though for obvious reasons. It's like you're describing another fighter.

A lot of Khabib lapriders are loose cannons

Tefvik, Goosemen, this Kha'Bless guy, all bit the dust hard
At least they didn't give shockingly bad takes over the outcome of Charles/Islam. It's hard to believe some of you have watched MMA for so long.

Lol do you know what your watching? Pressure is not the same as being reckless Charles was throwing with no set ups like flying knees for no reason. He was banking on a first round KO like he was predicting.

The usual "he was never that good" stance. Lmao. Because anyone can go on an 11 fight win streak by fighting reckless.

1) He submitted, THE submission artist of the entire UFC. The guy with the most submissions of the entire organization

2) Islam’s grappling skills are usually attributed to his effective use to the cage/fences. He submitted Charles in the center of the octagon.

4)He did it fairly easy.

4) I skipped 3

5) You checked whether I skipped 3
I thought he had been tapped a lot so it was always going to be easy?
