The shopping cart manifesto

My first job was a bagger and cart returner at Winn-Dixie back in the day. Ever since working there I return my cart inside the store. Those carts when you do quite a few at a time are heavy and if you push wrong it will mess up your back.

That being said I'm not against the way Aldi does their shopping carts. Put a quarter in and unlock the cart. In order to get the quarter back you need to put and lock the cart back.

Who the fuck has a quarter now days

Grocery shopping is serious business.

A guy on here who was a cashier yelled at me for packing my own groceries saying it caused a hold up. If a cashier is ringing things in where's the harm in me bagging speeding up the prrocess? He lost the plot.

In Australia we call them "shopping trolleys", the only thing I want to say is that people over 70 should be banned from using them, they're deadset dangerous with a trolley.

I hate those idiots who don't return carts to the corral. One of those loose carts hit the driver side door of my car and caused a dent. There are so many fucking lazy people in society. I understand if a person has a physical disability making it difficult to put the cart in the corral, but there are many able bodied people who think it's someone else's job.

I won't leave my kid in the car to return the cart. Other then that, yes cart return or back to the store

For the record, I return my cart 99% of the time.

But that last 1% I don't feel guilty about at all.

The only way anyone is harmed is if I leave the cart where it takes up a parking space, or if I don't secure it so it won't roll away into someone's car. Since I don't do either of those things, nobody is harmed.

So you're only a lazy sod 1% of the time? Still a loser mentality, most likely seeps into other areas of your life. Just sayin.........

Yes I'm such a loser for doing something that literally harms no one and provides job security to some teenager.

Counterpoint

1. By not returning your cart, you are keeping someone employed.

2. Some cheap ass stores don't have cart corrals in the parking lot

3. As long as you plant the front of the cart over a curb, it cannot roll away and hit someone's car. Therefore you've done no harm to anyone.
So you're one of those people

Counter to the counterpoint

1. No, you're making that person's job harder
2. Those stores don't employ cart people, they just send someone out to grab them, therefore you're making that person's job harder too
3. It's not about harm, it's about general decency and not being a lazy fuck

It's a good test to separate the good from the shit characters. Prospective employers should secretly observe candidates shopping cart behavior.

My very first brand new car had like 4 small dents or paint chips in less than a year. I try not to park where there's a stray cart nearby.
