The production value in this is great. The woke aspects of changing male roles to female roles , making most of the relationships gay, and all the bad guys white while most good guys black. I would have liked it alot more if not for that.

A little tough to follow but the person playing dream did a good job. Wasn't awful but could have been much better.

Since i haven't read the source material i really don't give a shit about it being like 3 straight people in it.. seems like netflix outdid themselves there.. if you're allergic to wokeness just give it a pass..

That said i liked it.. a lot.. possibly one of the best things coming from netflix in a while.. loved how dark it became at points..

Havent seen it yet but ill get on this soon. Sandman IS the GOAT comic series,and thats just being real.

It really isn't even close, either. Perhaps Moore's Swamp Thing run or Watchmen would be the next best, but in scope, length, the fact that it was created from scratch, the infinite details that went into almost every panel...it is in a class of its own.

The only Sandman story I can recall reading is the one with the serial killer's convention. Interesting and creepy AF, but it didn't make me want to read the rest of the series.

You should seriously go back and read the rest of it. No two arcs are the same. Even the overall arc of the series is basically in the background for the majority of the series. He used the theme as he was asked by DC, but used it as an excuse to tell the stories he wanted to tell. Hell, probably 30% (just a guess) of the series barely has anything to do with Dream at all, he's just a cameo character to keep it honest. It certainly owns the reputation it has for a reason. It was definitely the catalyst for things like Preacher, The Invisibles, Lucifer (direct catalyst), Fables, etc., etc.. Still the greatest series in the medium I've ever read, and I'm fairly consistent.

Respectfully disagree. Art is subjective, after all, and while I respect your enthusiasm for Sandman, it will never even approach Ennis' work on The Punisher Max, The Boys or Frank Millar's Born Again and The Dark Knight Returns .

I've read all of those. Maybe actually read the series in its entirety before forming such a definite opinion

Can accept lot of shit but erase John Constantine and then what they did on Lucifer* has been two consecutive bs too big to ignore

Still pretty good show so far, love the athmosphere

*did'nt even wanted Tom Ellis (who also does'nt look like Sandman Lucifer), i think somebody like Stranger Things guy could have been a great Lucifer

Those are great or good as individual comics/series, but they are just that: good comic books. Sandman is a masterpiece of storytelling, both as it is written and as its drawn. It's bonafide literature we can see.

The only Gaiman books I've read were American Gods, which I thought was OK but nothing special, and Bad Omens, which he co-wrote with one of my favourite authors, the late Sir Terry Pratchett.

Sandman doesn't interest me, so I'll give this one a pass.
