I don't know what the effects of immigration are that well in Europe because I don't live there. It isn't hurting the standard of living in the US, unless you want hard labor jobs in fields or factories, which we don't even have enough working age people to fill right now. They need to control the border, but immigrants fill important roles in the US, that's why farmer labor is hurting right now.

Nonetheless, I agree that people on the left need to call out very unliberal ways that societies are toward women and other groups and stop justifying them because they are "oppressed." The idea that those societies are good or innocent and the west is bad is twisted and perverse.

I think there's a class issue there. White liberals often live in rich all-white enclaves and they're largely sheltered from the effects of the harmful policies they support.

I've noticed the most vocally anti-racist people tend to live in the most racially homogenous white neighborhoods.

The impact of mass immigrstion doesn't effect them personally so they think there is no impact.

I certainly think that's a big factor and it's not until the problems start overflowing to their doorsteps that they'll start to realize. I do however also think there's a lot of middle class white women living in regular neighborhoods, but maybe just not the really bad ones, that are completely delusional and brainwashed by the type of news streams they routinely tap into.

I know when I lived in Calgary, a lot of young white people who couldn't really afford it would spend 80% of their income to live in safer neighborhoods.

You'd meet people who worked at the mall living in the NW paying $1500/month for a basement suite just to avoid minorities and then they'd get on their soapbox about racism.

You'd meet people who worked at the mall living in the NW paying $1500/month for a basement suite just to avoid minorities and then they'd get on their soapbox about racism.

My favourite thing over here is when they decide to build a housing facility for migrants in an upper middle class area where the people overwhelmingly vote for the political party's that are very immigrant friendly and that's when the uproar begins about safety and whatnot.

They always want immigration, just not where they live.
