Magney wants to fight him. Beating Magney won't do much for him but is he or the UFC scared of Neil?

Why isn't he fighting? He's not vaccinated, and the U.S. is no longer allowing unvaccinated folk travel into the country. With the lion's share of the UFC cards taking place stateside, he's kind of out of luck. I'd guess he thinks since he already had a gnarly case of COVID, he doesn't need the shot, but it's keeping him out of the country. That's not WR talk, that's just brass tax.

his management is likely trying to renegotiate so he starts getting bigger checks for the increased profile.
 
I think the UFC is just kind of shit at having to cultivate any star that needs promo. Look at suga, they somehow get him to fight guys who have dogshit striking compared to him. How do they not get khamzat a fight? They manage force every young guy against cub swanson for fucks sake

I dont think the UFC wants him to fight Neil.

They are looking for something bigger,considering they wanted him to fight Leon

Firstly, Sugar doesnt want to fight anyone good unless his money goes up. So they just give him shit guys he can beat for now. They were hoping for the cody fight,but he lost.

Khamzat,well they obviously have some fights in mind,that they have to wait on certain results,while others probably flat out refuse to fight him,as he hasnt really beaten anyone. Its not that they cant get him to fight,but they are patiently seeing who would be the best option. Khamzat does not have to fight every week,even though he wants to. He just fought not that long ago.

Didn't Dana say he wants h to fight 4 more times before a title shot or something? So you think he's gonna keep fighting top guys for a year or so? If he beats Burns there's not much else to go unless he wants to bounce between weight classes...

I dunno. I think they'll do it faster than that if it goes their way. Itll be a wait and see thing with each progressing fight,to see where he's at.
 
The UFC would want him on a 10-fight contract, they'll never want to let him go. Their biggest future star.

But since they implemented rankings fighters are looking at ranking-based matchmaking. Who to pick to climb the ranks and who to avoid. It's always been like that, like with Cain coming up, but more pronounced now.

If Islam or Khamzat is ranked 11th few top guys want to risk losing and basically be "the guy who lost to Khamzat" for the foreseeable future. It sucks as a fan as this is a sport based on toughness, but is what it is.

Eventually theyll get someone in a compromised situation like they had Leon in for a while there,and get someone to bite.

I think they want a top guy, not Belal or Magny, to get Khamzat to fight for the belt ASAP. IDK what's going on behind the scenes, but sure takes long, so maybe they should just settle for one of those two. Khamzat's been very inactive, you want that guy active.

I hated that they put Leon in that position. Better way to incentivize than to put him in a corner. So, good he's getting his title shot. Hope they stop with those tactics.
