ALL US Senators maintain a residence in their home state. Being a citizen of the state is a requirement for being a senator from that state, after all.

Since they spend so much time in DC, a second residence in the DC area is a practical necessity, as well.

The vacation home that he caught so much crap over was actually purchased using money that his WIFE received from the sale of another property (in Maine, IIRC) that she inherited years earlier, but that they never had time to use.

Between the salary of a US senator and the salary of a college president, they weren’t exactly living in poverty. But they never claimed to be, either.

He's one of the most outspoken critics of big pharma and health insurance corporations and one of the biggest advocates for affordable and accessible health care for all. So of course that bribery narrative doesn't make any sense.
