The real robbery of 297 - Sidey vs Taveras

that was like 30 seconds of the round rest of the round was all him
Doesn’t matter tho, damage is the number one criteria

When you get dropped and your face gets busted, it’s very hard to overcome that kind of damage

I'm glad Anik called out Cruz on the blood and damage thing. In fact blood is over rated for the most part. Yes its damage but a busted nose and blood doesn't take a whole lot. I think getting punched clean in the head does more damage than a busted nose.
Cutting someone open and breaking their nose is more damage than 10 “hard” shots that don’t actually hurt your opponent, just becuase they look hard

Isn’t the 2nd round the one where taveras dropped sidey? How are people giving sidey that round?

Not a robbery but a questionable decision. I would have given it to Sidey.

I find it astonishing that 2 fighters who have studied for years, practised for years, trained for weeks, fought their guts out for 15 to 25 minutes, bled until their hair turned red, have their accomplishments and futures determined by 3 random bozos who may not have even been paying attention.

Sidey is the 100th best bantamweight according to Tapology and 197th according to FightMatrix. Taveras is 93rd on Tapology and 243rd on FightMatrix. Neither deserves to be in the UFC. By having them of the roster, the fans are robbed of a chance to watch higher caliber fighters.

One is superficial while the other affects your brain. We've seen little baby elbows cut you up easily, and it looks worse bc of the blood but no actual brain damage occured. You see gets get booped on the head and then do the stank leg, which is real damage. No blood, and sometimes no actual superficial damage like swelling (when hit on temple). Going by the looks of blood as some kind of measurement of damage is 100% casual. I didn't expect Cruz to be so insistent on being a casual.

So something you can’t see and can only guess about, versus something you can see and causes damage? Did he hurt taveras badly in the 2nd? I mean, sidey was the one who got knocked down also

besides, the judging criteria actually talks about cuts and lacerations, it doesn’t talk about assumed brain damage that you can’t see and can’t measure

Bleeding from the nose from jabs isn't more damaging than being punched in the head. Guess all those fighters who got KO'd with no blood was just faking all that assumed damage? Aksren was stiff as a board but again, was just faking the damage since there was no blood.

Being unconscious isnt the same as taking shots that don’t seriously hurt you while cutting open your opponent, breaking his nose and knocking him down

How does breaking the nose seriously hurt you? How does a cut from a baby elbow hurt you? How does showing blood hurt you?

You think getting your nose broken isn’t a serious injury in an mma fight? But you think punches that don’t even wobble the opponent are huuuuge hits that should be worth more?
