International The Queen - Another One Bites the Dust

I'm getting the impression that it really bugs you that somebody came in and pointed out that your headline is very misleading.

I'm replying to you out of formality, I couldn't care one way or another what a stranger from the other side of the world thinks of me.

Feel free to stop any time. The fact of the matter is, your headline is extremely misleading. You admit it, we all know it. This thread is clickbait pre-empting something for the time being.

So BBC going dark means she's already dead and they're waiting for Megan to get there before announcing it or what?

I'm blessed to be totally unfamiliar with royal protocol.

Apparently both Conservative Party and Labour Party leaders were sat in a debate in Parlaiment when they were both taken aside and given the same note to look at, they then left immediately with the note holder.

That’s an oversimplification of the break down your own link shows. Most of that money goes to the maintenance of national historic sites that will and need to be maintained regardless of whether or not there is a monarchy.

The sovereign grant of 90 million pounds. I’m sure that money couldn’t be spent better else where. Who owns the property they are maintaining?

“Most of the grant was spent on the cost of maintaining occupied royal palaces, and staff pay. Last year £55m was spent on efforts to accelerate work on Buckingham Palace“

How much does the US federal government spend on maintenance and staffing for national monuments and historic sites?

Who owns the property? Whaaaaatabout!!!! If private citizens owned the national monuments I don’t support tax payers paying for their upkeep either.

Charles has done a shitload for charities whether he looks like a bit of a dork or not. He founded the Princes Trust which has helped fund and support nearly a million young people in the UK set up businesses or develop their careers.
The British royal family are a bunch of welfare recipients, beneficiaries of the theft committed by a bunch of (literally in some cases) pirates. Throwing the peasants some scraps so they don't end up like their cousins, the Romanovs, is better than nothing, but really the whole setup seems a bit unnecessary in 2022.

Elizabeth was apparently a bit of a shooter in her day. Peasant hunting?

They bring in a lot of tourism and they're useful for little diplomatic visits. The liked ones (not Andrew obviously) are also good drivers of charity.

Buckingham Palace? The crown estate does.

I don’t believe it costs 60 million pounds a year for maintenance on just buckingham palace.

If she's gone then RIP.

Whenever the royals come up I think of how relentless Sean Lock was in his criticism of her tax exemption status. The punchline lands around 3:30. He was right.
