I remember when they started the intrusive ads, it was ridiculous. I have nothing wrong with ads but they were all over and would take over my screen. They broke through some blockers too.

The worst was the Mayweather Canelo fight ads. It was almost impossible to post with that thing. It really fucked this place up.

Nope but that might be due to the ad blocker I use. I get that the site needs to pay the bills but the ads need to be balanced with functionality. This site went down the plug hole on that front years ago so I had to either leave or use a blocker. Not the best idea to forcibly draw a line in the sand like that for your users but I don't pay the bills or make the decisions so not really my place to judge how this place chooses to operate.

I have never, ever, not once, seen an ad on this site in the decade+ of browsing, for a few years as a lurker, then a member. I didn’t even know there were ads here until someone posted about it a few months ago.

Always on iOs or iPadOs. Always via Safari with ad-blocker.
