The Ponies Thread (part 2)

@BluntTrauma21

I don't want to say anything to talk you off a horse you've already decided on. Especially one that does have a very legitimate shot (heck, it's the favourite). I see a concern there, but that's just me. Stick with it and we'll talk after the race if it doesn't do well for you.

sounds good, thanks bud.

Congrats to both of you @t6p @Sharkey , btw. You both seem to be right up near each other in the top 250 or so. I'm still gonna win but good job moving up the ranks, nonetheless. Right where I want you, ahead for me to run down during the stretch... fr good job tho guys.

Cheers man. We've been doing okay lately even if T is only doing so by playing dirty and stealing all of my picks. Nah, kidding. It's me that's stealing his.

And that kind of talk from you is so much better than the "I just want to finish top 500" or whatever nonsense you were spewing a week or two ago. Both you and T should have that kind of confidence.

I didn't do anything beyond eyeballing the PP's for the race, but this 12/1 price on the #8 in race 3 at Keeneland might be too hard to ignore.

Hey, speaking of the tourney, do you guys know what being "in the barn" means? I don't think I've ever been put in there but I still wonder wtf it means, like you're not allowed to make picks for a certain amount of time for whatever reason. Idk, thought I'd ask b/c I have no idea, haha.

That's exactly what it means, Blunt. If none of your picks finish top 4 and you don't have any "lives" left, you're forced to sit out the rest of the week.

Gave us a shot til late at 17/1 before it faded back to 4th (of 11) in the last furlong.

Yeah just small w/p/s bets for me for fun. She ran a decent race for the price we got her at.

Thanks Shark. We're on a great run, unfortunate that people are landing on these crazy longshots or we'd be right in the mix. Going with these for today:

Race 6: #6 Supernumerary
Race 8: #4 Telescopic Plan
Race 9: #2 Nym

5/8/9 for me, thanks Shark.

Looks like both of your picks for race 8 have been scratched guys.

Thanks for the heads up bud! Switched my pick to the #5 Araminta.

With it now being a dirt race we have a new set of numbers for that race, T.

@BluntTrauma21

Since it scratched, this horse's very low NF score is what I was concerned with when talking about it earlier. That's quite the important category since it deals with one of the most important (if not the single most) aspects of horse racing, which is a horse's current form. To get such a low NF score that #8 would have had a lot of negatives when it came to that. If you were getting a price on the horse I wouldn't have said anything and instead I may have thought it was worth the risk. But this was the 5/2 morning line favourite you were going to be on and who had shown pretty terrible recent form.

You're the best Shark. Switching my pick again, this time to the #10 Gymnastic.

Hopefully we've backed into a free bingo space with that one, T. We're obviously not getting anywhere close to it's 15/1 morning line I wouldn't think considering the scratches and it being off the turf. But it may pay okay for a 6 horse field if it does win. We'll see.

Thank you for the explanation. Tbh at times I still need to bring up the pm's so I can remember what all the numbers mean. Thanks for pointing that out. Also as you know I'm a neurotic motherfucker and I've kinda been harping on what I was missing when you brought that possible flaw in my capping up. Suffice it to say, i feel much better now that I know. Thanks, buddy, gonna keep an eye out for that from now on.
