I'd be okay with the Sox losing if only because I want them to go back being more focused on their scouting & development. You know, that big market team with the small market mindset they used to be for the most part. They pissed me off quite a bit a few years ago when they signed Sandoval and Hanley as free agents regardless of how that worked out (or didn't) for them. That's why I've lost interest in them the past couple years. I don't want to root for a team that tries to "buy" their championships. That's what your Yankees do. But I'm always going to be a Red Sox fan regardless even though I don't care for the way they've conducted business the last couple of years.

Ain't it funny how cats have been stereotyped as being aloof and wanting to be left alone all the time? I've never understood that. I'm sure they are cats like that, but that trait from them is likely due to the way they were raised and mostly left alone by their owners. I've never had a cat like that, and Bella certainly isn't. She's like Scarlett in that she always wants to be around me whether she wants attention or just wants to sleep. She's almost always within an arms reach of me, though.

And no, I don't have any lucky numbers or anything like that. My wife does, though, when she makes an occasional bet. She always takes either the #5 or the #7 no matter what. Just depends what name appeals to her more out of those two.

I don't think I can just make a straight bet on a single horse in race 1. The #2 looks by far the most likely winner. But that one is also going to go off short. I may concede that race to the #2 and try to get the #6 horse home 2nd or 3rd in trifectas as that one should go off pretty long. I'm thinking key the #2 on top and then key the #6 in 2nd & 3rd for value with the #3, #5 filling the other spot.

The track handicapper picked the #3, so maybe the #2 will be a playable price afterall. It'll be short. But maybe not the odds-on type that I thought it would.

I'd certainly take the current 3/1 on this #2 horse if it holds up. Hell, I would take 2/1. It's tops in 8 of the 13 categories that I have with a big edge on average and may not even be the favourite.

And this is fun. I don't think I've done this for a while now. The last couple of times I bet a bunch of races on a card they were the "bet and forget" variety on days I had to work.
