The People's Champ, The Rock, pays homage to Conor McGregor

If you're going to try and shit on Conor's success as a fighter you could at least get the amount of titles he's won right. It's 5, not 4.

It's 4. Interim Titles are not real titles with actual historical lineages.

I like how Conor is now described as a businessman rather than as a fighter.

The Rock would be a good analytical philosopher. Solid description.

That is how I always saw the man, he doesn’t pander to how people believe martial artists should be but instead makes smart business moves. One of those business moves is working hard in gym and becoming a very skilled fighter. The rest is taking fights that make business sense and getting a lot of attention. I admire him for that even though I hate his antics most of the time and want him to fight all comers. Still, a big fan though. Smart man.

Lol at trying to pretend Conor hasn't proven to obviously be enormously skilled and one of the best fighters on the planet. Cause unskilled fighters routinely KO the #5, #1, and GOAT at FW, then move up and beat #4 and KO one of the GOAT at LW too.
Your labia is showing Marlene. I never claimed he wasn’t skilled. Simply that his financial success can be more attributed to his charisma than his actual skill. Being the best isn’t as financially rewarding as being the most popular. This isn't limited to combat sports. I can’t even fathom how you missed the point, other than your raging hardon for McGregor.

Yet people on here slag Conor off, calling him a fake fighter and that he isn't even that good.

How can people be so hateful and bitter towards someone you've never even met?

Instead they should try and take inspiration from everyone they can.
Well said!! Yes, the criticisms of him are valid but so are his amazing achievements. People can learn a great deal from the achievements if some people actually took the time to appreciate them.

'When you strip it all away...'

How ironic

Conor deserves all the criticism for how he's refusing to defend his belt sine the mayweather fight.

But anyone who doesn't respect his accomplishments from the start of his career up to that point has to be some kind of issues like insecurity or something. It was an incredible run and great to see an MMA fighter go through that.

Never understood those who hate on him for being successful.

Never understood those who worship his success and act like it’s theirs.

Respect the success and make your own.

Except his financial success has directly followed his increased success though.

They are actually in very similar situations. They maximized the ability to earn money off the attention and popularity as opposed to skill in the craft. They are the equivalent of a company that produces an inferior product yet thrives off the strength of their marketing. The Rock may be the highest paid male actor (I think I remember hearing that) but can anyone really make the argument that he is the most skilled thespian? Same with Conor. He may be the king in regards to earnings, but the pay doesn’t reflect his skill. He’s not the best fighter any more than Rock Johnson is the best actor.

You are wrong. Conor has clearly proven he is one the very best fighters on the planet (that is not even debatable considering what he did to Aldo and Alvarez, champions of two of the most stacked weightclasses), while Rock is not even close to be one of the best actors. Conor just happens to be an amazing business man on top of that.

High praise from The Rock. Kinda off topic but he was great in Rampage. The movie was silly but it was surprisingly enjoyable. He is a huge action star now. He is making non-comic movies and doing well, which is very rare now in Hollywood.

How can there be another movie called Rampage? That's weird.

The Rampage trilogy is fucking awesome, if you haven't seen it check them out

The highest grossing actor & one of the biggest celebrities on the planet

pays homage to the lineal King With Two Crowns

It really does speaks volumes how the smartest, most successful

people on the planet draw inspiration from Conor McGregor.

While the cockroaches here shriek & whine at any move he makes.

The Rock misunderstands that he is lauding McGregor for his manipulations. "Congratulations?" That WWE is quasi-performance art is well understood, but MMA is, or should be, different, and McGregor has mostly succeeded into turning MMA into more of a sideshow.

All business is is manipulating people into giving their money to you, rather than keeping it themselves. McGregor has done it better than anyone in MMA history. Anything else is in that statement is just your opinion, and, well, who are you?
