is Conor McGregor.

The Jose Aldo Vs Frankie Edgar rematch proved that Jose Aldo is still the same exact fighter. He fought just like he always fights. In fact you could argue that it was one of his better performances because Frankie Edgar was looking at his best before that fight. (even better than his lw days)

When GSP lost to Serra he just won the belt, you can't really say that he had reached his full potential. The loss definitely made him way better.

Anderson was old, lost to Weidman and has not won a fight since Stephan Bonner.

Fedor's prime was 2003-2007 ish

Serra, obviously.

Serra beat PEAK GSP who was better than the more cautious grinder he was later.

Hughes beat green GSP, Serra beat peak GSP.

Also Gustafsson, depending on how you scored that fight.

He is the GOAT alright - and he did it all on pasta and ravioli.

Serra beat a guy that had 0 title defenses.

And Gustafsson....only if you are delusional.

You can prefer pre-Serra GSP's style, but come on. He clearly got a lot better after that. He was more cautious, but he also rounded out his game and increased his ability to mix things up. He couldn't do that before the Serra loss.

That said, Serra definitely beat him during his physical prime.

Aldo lost.

Salt. Salt, everywhere

Utterly irrelevant.

We're being asked who beat a GOAT in his prime.

Serra did. Unquestionably. No room for sensible argument on it. That 100% was prime GSP. I say that as someone who thinks GSP was as good as anyone else to ever lace on the gloves.

So because he was more exciting then he was a better fighter?

Post Serra GSP is much more well rounded

Lol Aldo wasn't in his prime, and it was Matt Serra like the other posters have already noted. Bisping could also make a great argument for that position as well.

How can you say it was his prime when he had like 1 good win? And I'm not talking about age.

Weidman beat Anderson when Anderson was still making great fighters look stupid
Werdum ended Fedor's streak when Fedor was still wrecking fools
Serra beat GSP right before he went on his streak

Whether or not these guys were in their prime or not for these L's is matter of opinion and mine is that they were

Jones is the last one left

The fanboys obviously will tell me "Prime so and so never lost"

Matt Serra took GSP's soul and mind. He never recovered after that and played it safe and boring.

07-09 GSP was the best version. The GSP of the Shields fight onwards was clearly not what he had been.

Agreed. GOAT is not only resume. GOAT is something unordinary, never seen before. Conor revolutionized the sport, made it more mainstream and way more profitable. And beating long reigning champion in Aldo who was officially the p4p king with such an ease is a true testament of GREATNESS.

GOAT.
