The official "The Why Files" thread

i try to watch some of his stuff but it all just seems so fictional, like he's picking out topics that don't have a shred of possibility and building a show around it. Seems like a nice guy and I love fringe type of shit but just seems like nothing has any validity to it. At least UFO/Skinwalker/Ghost/Bigfoot type of stuff have multiple eyewitness accounts and people who seem to really believe in their existence.
So you don't watch till the end where he debunks what he can?

I've watched some, but as interesting and well produced as the shows are, the last ones I've watched, I just lose interest before that. I'll probably try watching more though, he does great work.

AJ kept predicting it was only a mater of time til they came for him...

Damn, we've really let this thread die off.

In my defense, I've been super busy with work..... haven't even been on YT much the past few months. Guess the wife and I have some catching up to do.

The last couple have been okay. AJ has been a recurring "historian" on The Unexplained on the Histroy channel, though. That has been pretty cool to see him on there.

I quit posting about it cause the show has really went downhill, it used to be a fun community experience with the Thursday night premiere and After Files and group chats, now it just randomly drops whenever, you'll get an episode on Tuesday afternoon and then nothing for 3 weeks and then an episode appears at 3 am Saturday morning with no announcement, not as fun that way

Plus, the actual quality of the show is suffering, used to be a man and his smart alec fish taking us on a fun little trip but then AJ became reliant on this AI generated imagery and making up these over dramatic stories, "Youre a fisherman on the 3rd moon of the Sabbath and suddenly you hear a flash over your shoulder..."

Its just not the same anymore, oh well, it was great for awhile

AJ really appears to be losing it, everytime he drops one of these random update videos he seems to be all stressed out and frazzled, hope he's alright

New episode just dropped, sounds like it could be a fun, interesting ride

Operation Eagle Flight: The Escape from Berlin to Bariloche

For decades, a piece of his skull sat in a Russian archive - our most decisive proof that the most evil man of the 20th century died in 1945. When scientists finally tested the bone in 2009, they discovered it belonged to a woman under 40. The evidence we trusted for over 60 years was fake.

Stalin insisted the dictator escaped to Argentina. The FBI conducted their longest manhunt ever looking for him. Recently, researchers found a military submarine deliberately hidden off Argentina's coast. When asked to investigate, authorities said no. They're still saying no.

The truth remains buried in sealed files across three continents. But the bigger question isn't whether he escaped - it's who helped him. Because if history's greatest monster survived, he didn't do it alone. He was protected by a network that reached from Berlin to the Vatican to Argentina -- to Washington D.C.

I think they seem to be dialing back the use of AI videos a bit now, which is good.

Personally I preferred TWF when it was a bit more fun and a little less serious.

He doesn´t release as much as before lately.
Anyone know why ?

I honestly think it is because he has covered almost everything already, and the fact he is getting some gigs for TV shows now, like William Shatner's The Unexplained series on the History channel.

I think his format is good. The way he sets up the story then unravels it at the end if good. My problem is that I only tend to watch these crypoid things when I'm extremely hung over. I don't want to hear that the temple was meticulously built in smaller parts or that cranes and pulleys existed back then, I want to be told that a floating piece of tuple wear transferred rocks with a tractor beam.

He's running himself ragged trying to build an empire, if you watch any of the backstage and live group discussion videos they talk about all the different shows they're working on right now to try and expand on Why Files popularity

He often appears completely worn out and frazzled in those vids as he's running on energy drinks, working nonstop and barely getting any sleep

They have 5 different shows in different stages of planning and pre-production right now so thats one reason

Plus the Why Files episodes have gotten a lot bigger with a lot more research and also a lot more post-production for all the different CGI razzle dazzle & bells and whistles added in, so that's taking up a lot more time too

There's been a few times when I've been so disappointed that he was easily able to unravel a wild conspiracy or alien story that I loved so much for so long LoL

lol

I’ve taken a break from TWF so I’ll have to check this out. Awhile back the comments section started to blow up a bit with people theorizing that AJ was actually an operative.. so of course he played into that a little with cheeky comments in a few subsequent episodes.

I burned thru so many episodes so quick that I wanted to give it time for them to come out with a bunch more. Hopefully there’s some good ones lined up again.
