A rolling stone gathers no moss.

It also doesn't get covered in bird shit.

Italy was the best league by far when Maradona played.

Between 1984-91?

I would not say that. Could be argued it was the best league, but certainly not "by far". It was no where near as dominant in the Euro competitions as Spain has been in the last decade, for example (and that was at a time when the English teams were banned, too).

Would argue Serie A really peaked toward the end of Maradona's stay and in the years after he left......say 1989-1997.

Mbappe is amazing but let's not forget - it's a team sport. Collective effort > outstanding individual. Uruguay worked great as a team (both offensively and defensively) and that's why they won. Relying on a single shining star has been the downfall of both Argentina and Portugal today. France isn't making the same mistake.

This is the truth. Milan, Inter and Juve in particular developed frightening strength in depth in the 2 or 3 years after Maradona left.

Colombia could still be without star man James Rodriguez for Tuesday's last-16 tie against England after the player underwent a calf scan.

James Rodriguez has not torn a muscle but has swelling in his calf, the Federacion Colombiana de Futbol (FCF) has confirmed.

The midfielder limped out of Colombia's 1-0 win over Senegal that booked a World Cup last-16 clash with England.

Bayern Munich star James was therefore considered a doubt for Tuesday's game in Moscow.

And Colombia confirmed in a statement that James has undergone a scan on the injury.

"Results showed that he has a minor edema without a fibrillar rupture in the right soleus," the FCF said.

James was the Golden Boot winner at Brazil 2014 as Colombia reached the quarter-finals.

Colombia are set to train in a behind-closed-doors session on Sunday.

Yup......if memory serves an Italian team made the final of the European Cup every year from about 89-98.

Edit: not 1991, after checking.

Did Bayern buy him btw? Or is he still formally with Real? Didn't follows the news on this one.

He is one year into a 2 year loan, I believe.

Rumour is Bayern want rid.

I will get criticized for this as its really hard to argue how 4 doesnt always beat one. But Ronaldo outside the Spain game had 3 terrible games. Far worse than any of the messi games in terms of general play. Its crazy how bad he has become when he isnt scoring

I remember a little about the second scudetto, the 1990 one. Diego did some mind boggling things that season, things that we hadn't seen before in a pitch... but it was a good team with Ferrara, Alemao y Careca and other players.

I say Jamie Party Hardy leading a bunch of masons and baker's to the 2016 Premuership is a bigger achievement imo

Fiorentina were a mid table team in that era and their team was crazy.

At least I still have Spain to hang my hat on. Don't let me down Isco. I thought Portugal played well enough to win. But, there unwillingness to take their chances did them in. Why not put the corners into the box instead of this short bullshit. You have the best striker in the history of the game. Whatever.

Mbappe just ran all over those fools (argentina). I hope I get the chance to see Sergio Ramos do his thing to Mbappe. At least Ronnie got as far as Messi and scored more goals. Good to see an ex-Madrid player, Di Maria, get a nice goal.

Suarez is a bitch.
