Thats true for the most part. Remember Goku being able to hold back Fused Zamusa beam alone while it took Trunks and Vegeta combined power to beat it. This was after Vegeta trained in the ROSAT and beat Black in a 1v1 fight

That's Goku's max power you're talking about. I'm talking about his base form.

Since Goku can access SSB and Trunks can't, Goku's max power is higher but is base form is not as strong as Trunks's base form.

Black follows trunks back and time and loses to ssj2 goku before being sucked back into the time hole

Couple episodes go by and SSJ 2 Trunks is holding his own vs SSJ Rose Zamusa while goku needs god form to hold his own

If you're saying we shouldn't use any logic to discuss power levels (not even DBZ logic) what's your basis for being so adamant about Goku's base form being stronger?

Even if we didn't know the multipliers of the different SS levels, we all know SS3 enhances your power more than SS2. If you can acknowledge that piece of basic DB logic, the only conclusion, according to the manga, is

Trunks Base form > Goku's base form

The manga is not like it was in Z

Its not the end all be all for Super

Just cause it happened in the Manga doesn't mean that's what really happened

They both follow a similar outline that Toryiama gave them but they just do it a little differently.

Yeah pretty much default to the anime. Goku and Vegeta both trained baseform with whis. Plus Goku is just Goku

So far the inconsistencies are more frequent when the anime differs from the manga. History of this very anime franchise favors the manga in regards of what is canon.

All that confusing timeline stuff? So far that's only unique to the anime.

The anime contradicts itself all the time. The silliest contradiction in the anime is Frieza, Cell and all the other bad guys keeping their body in hell when it was established at the beginning of Z that only a select few good people get to keep their body in the afterlife.

It's worth reading the manga. It provides details that clears up a lot of things and is actually telling a much more coherent story than the anime.

In the manga, we see how the Babidi situation played out in Trunks's timeline. Trunks goes SSJ2 after Dabura kills Kibito

Krillin and the other Z fighters died when Trunks was a baby. Trunks did go SSJ when Gohan died, though.

I don't think it was just Kibito's death. I think it was just the culmination of all the bad shit happening to him. After finally ridding the Earth of the androids, he finally gets peace just for Babidi and Dabura to come fuck things up.

I still can't believe they just wiped out that whole timeline and sent Trunks and Mai off to another universe where a Trunks and Mai already exist. Shaking my damn head at them not making Future Trunks a permanent part of the Z-Crew.

They could have invented a fusion between Trunks and Gohan, who would now be closer in age. Just imagine Vegito, Gotenks, AND Gohanks (Truhan?) triple-teaming some new villain. Alas, it's not to be.

In other DBZ-related news, I'm very excited to post that I've come across something I've been looking for for a very long time, that I've always wanted but could never find until now.

Finally, something that doesn't have a shitty gym-related phrase ("Train like a Super Saiyan," or "Training to beat Goku," etc.) or one of those super-gay button-down shirts with the large print all over it. I cringe at the fact that I wanted one of those shirts so badly when I was in middle school. Never did end up getting one thankfully.

Now I can support the GOAT show DBZ and best of all, it's officially licensed.
