Heavyweight is basically the senior circuit rn...you know the torch will be passed soon but to who?

Guys like Derrick Lewis, Tybura, Browne, Tony Johnson, diaper guy..all have shown flaws that make it hard to believe they will ever be the guy.....even Volkov showed his weaknesses in Bellator that will hold him back. He's had favourable style matchups in the UFC so far.

None of those guys are good enough

I think we have to look beneath them and hope one of these guys is the real deal

Some potential candidates in the UFC:

Curtis Blaydes 8-1 record
Justin Ledet 9-0 record
Arjan Bhullar 7-0
Tai Tuivasa 6-0
Marcelo Golm 6-0

Can you think of any others in the UFC or even outside that have potential?

Blaydes is your guy

All the makings in him

Cole Conrad if he decides to fight again.

When you say HW you mean Fedor GOAT right?

The Heavyweight division will never be what it was for as long as USADA are in town.

There needs to be a massive recruitment for Heavyweights - not even necessarily good one, just big jobbers for current favourites like Hunt and so on to smash on like they used to do in Pride.

Everyone loves a heavyweight fight - it's two freaky big dudes swinging bombs to scramble grey matter - it's a spectacle. The UFC needs to stop treating it so limp wristed and give us fights - I'll take record padding fights and freakshows and day over only having 20 something active Heavyweights in the entire division.

Pride understood this. They used to get just about anyone in to get KO'd by Fedor, CroCop, Wanderlei, and all the rest... That's what built up their stars so much, and what made it so spectacular... By the time the tournaments and title fights rolled in we were rabid to see these guys fight eachother because they looked like absolute monsters after crushing a few cans in between. It made for a massively successful product, confident fighters, and some incredible highlights.

Bring on the cans.

Few HW prospects I'd keep an eye on:

Gary Goodridge
Bob Schrijber
Marco Ruas
Ricco Rodriguez
Enson Inoue
Gan McGee
Erick Silva

You can have a clean sport just not a clean HW division. It's not possible to stack a division of dudes that size without some chemical help. They should turn a blind eye for the big guys.

Ngannou was the next wave. <mma1>

They should invest in some of the Russian HWs. Volkov could improve but I think a few HWs KO him.

If they want a better division they need to put more money in it. Period.

Blaydes is on his way up. His only loss is to Ngannou and the be honest the tides were turning in that fight before the cut stoppage. Also, the HW division may be old when comparing it to other divisions but make no mistake about it, they are all still very dangerous. The experience these guys have is what allows them to keep competing at such an old (for mma) age. These new young guys just dont have the same experience or skill level. The prospects are more athletic for the most part, but the beauty of the HW division is that the older guys have great (for the most part) fight IQ when compared to the rookies in the division.

nope stipe is ding just fine in a clean sport.

jds and overeem show using peds doesn't mean you will win.

Stipe, Big Country, Mark Hunt, and Derrick Lewis may well be the only guys in the division that have never used PEDS... You can't just have a division with a handful of guys in it.
