I'm not overly concerned about his ankle, I assume it was properly cleared by doctors and it will hold up during the fight.
The thing that can't be cleared by doctors... is cardio. Generally, Max's best attribute is the pace he maintains and his superior cardio. His high volume pace in a 5 round fight represents his best path towards beating Khabib, under normal circumstances where they both had a full camp to prepare.
Max hasn't really been training at all for the past two months, he's been eating poorly, and likely weighs about 170-180 pounds based on the things that he's said in interviews over the last couple weeks. It's simply not possible for his cardio to be anywhere close to what it normally is for fights where he had a full camp. Add in the fact that he'll have a brutal weight cut where he's gonna be draining his body running for hours every day this week and cutting significant weight the last couple days before the fight.... Is there any chance we see a Max Holloway with anywhere near the pace and cardio that he usually displays? Unfortunately, I think the answer is no. Hoping Max somehow proves me wrong though.
