Fair point that most flying knees don't end badly for the attacker. But it also depends who you launch such an attack on. Leaving your feet to attack Rousey is reckless, because it's certain that her strategy entails throwing you to the ground. Flying knees also are pretty predictable in most cases, especially when the attacker has to cover a lot of ground to launch them. It's just that most people step out of the way and reset without trying to punish their attacker in a vulnerable position, which also happens with most spinning attacks, no matte how awkwardly executed.
Speaking of Arlowski...
Brings us to the man who forever wrecked his chin:
This one was a head scratcher. It wasn't the first time in the fight he had done it and Stipe had decked him for it then too. It wasn't like he was chasing a hurt oppenent or had any real opening either
We just have a different definition for "reckless" then. I give all the credit to Ronda`s skill for her win over Cat and dont blame one bit Cat for throwing that knee. Imo people would never had said anything about that knee had it not ended a finish a moment later. People just hate Ronda so much they wanted to discredit her technically amazing 13 sec performance. Its so easy to say in hindsight Cat shouldnt have thrown that knee. If it was possible to play those first few secs and that knee 100 times over again I doubt it would end Ronda finishing Cat a few sec later more than a couple of times.
If we start to think a fighter cant throw a flying knee against Ronda because Ronda could so easily capitalize and finish the opponent seconds later, its more or less the same as saying a fighter should not throw a single punch against a fighter who is much more skilled on the feet and could counter it with a KO punch.
Gotta disagree. This was halfway in round 1. If it were round 3 and the fight clearly wasn't going his way I would agree. When has Werdum ever blatantly charged an opponent like that when things didn't go his way. He often struggles in round 1 and finds his timing or openings after the first. He was having more trouble with Hunt but was patient. He was also more patient of Overeem (too patient). Every time I have seen Werdum throw more careless combos is actually when he was winning and felt more comfortable. I think Stipes power he just didn't respect and felt he could be reckless.Stipe forced that. Werdum was desperate

Maybe a factor, I could see that. But I also saw Stipe landing punches, landing kicks, checking Werdum's kicks and making him miss with his hands. I think Fabricio was frustrated and panicked.Gotta disagree. This was halfway in round 1. If it were round 3 and the fight clearly wasn't going his way I would agree. Joe Rogan's atacked Zingano far more reckless in the post fight interview
