The mma hour ratings have gone down since Luke Thomas took over

I did some research and compared the YouTube views from episodes when Ariel Helwani was presenting to now when Luke Thomas has taken over and it’s gone down considerably...

Ariel’s last episode did 225k views



While Luke Thomas’ episodes struggle to even pass 50k on average.



I guess people find Ariel more entertaining, and are probably turned off by Luke’s forced delivery that screams “pretentious know it all” trying to use a new word of the day every time to come off as more sophisticated.


Me personally, I don’t resonate with Luke’s style. Especially makes me cringe when he tries to add hip hop lexicon and music to the show.

Their guest list hasn't been very good and fewer guest per episode.

I think Luke does a better job.

He does a good job of covering the sport. I don’t get all the hate for him.

I would not put it past Ariel to find a way to prevent fighters from agreeing to go on the podcast. Luke's last lineup featured GDR and Herb Dean. I like Herb Dean but the guy was the major guest.

MMAFighting is dying. Ariel jumped ship the minute his contract was over so he could be in bed with ESPN. It doesn't matter that he's streaming on a shitty platform like Twitter or getting buried on ESPN's YouTube channel, because his end game has always been to use MMA as springboard and get on to other sports like basketball, his true love. Luke Thomas' jaundiced narcissistic style does not attract cheetos eating pimple poppers which are 95% of the MMA fandom. He's a terrible choice for the Monday show and his replacements for the Wednesday live chat are even worse. These guys will drive MMAFighting to the ground.

yea that would be Danny Segura, so essentially you got a dude that they picked up from somewhere on roosevelt ave. in queens new york paired up with a dude that is so vanilla that it just doesnt work. I really have a hard time watching when they go into their little conversations about Columbia, south american culture, and their music....Luke sounds like that white dude that is trying too hard to be multicultural because of his sjw white guilt lol.
