This is a thread for Minecraft enthusiasts on Sherdog to use to share their projects, project ideas, ask questions, and show pictures of what they doing. Any of you people out there? Anyone need help understanding why the hell their kids like this game?
Hundreds of my hours have sunk into this game and I find it quite relaxing. Myself and a friend, another Sherdogger, have had two worlds going since the game was in Beta. Our current world has been going since the game was officially released several years ago and we've had a few big projects in that time.
Our central "old world" tower is the hub of it all. It comes out of a 30 x 30 pit going to the bottom to the top of the world. The tower is topped with a 22,000 glass block pyramid containing a tree farm with four types of trees, pens for multiple types of animals, and almost every kind of produce in the game. It has rail lines going from its top to the bottom of the world - where there is a giant underground "fight club" in near total darkness for when you want to trash monsters. It has leaps from the top to rail lines connecting to our 15,000 block long "infinite rail" that continues straight north, continuing whenever we're bored, along with leaps to rail lines connecting to various other projects and bases we've set up.
A view from the central tower a ways out:
A view at night time, a little closer:
A view from inside the glass pyramid up top:
My most recent project is a giant double helix extending from the base of the world, inside a 40x40 pit dug to the bottom, to the top of the world - a commemorative base for the infinite rail getting past an ocean that extended for over 10,000 blocks.
Our double helix rail and base from a distance:
A look up the helix from the bottom of the 40x40 pit:
A look down from the base on top:
16 maps conjoined on a wall showing the area around the Helix base. The square water pattern is the result of a bug in world generation between patches.
PS - I realize this is my second thread today and I'm hoping you'll give me a pass and not delete this one.. If a mod decides to delete one of my threads, can you delete the other one? Thanks.
