Metal/Rock/Industrial The metal thread \m/

This is not an official Maiden album nor is it a bootleg ....it's simply a collection of singles taken from here and there. Great selection esp the first track, those pounding drums and bass made my day :)

May the lords of buttrock pardon me for this left turn, as I have brought this harrowing slab of industrial terror for this month's offering. I had intended on keeping my 2024 list to post-black metal, but in the best of cvlt circles an album will fall out of nowhere and sit you down with awe.

The Body has released a new collaboration with an artist I had not heard before. Dis Fig, who as far as I can tell performs with turntables in her solo projects. I'm not sure what that entails as it's not my cup of tea. Her performance here reminds me of Lingua Ignota, Pharmakon, and of course some Bjork to make you think everything is ok amidst the hellish, thumping soundscapes of The Body.

If the Coils of Kaa doesn't have you curling over with wicked arthritic hands, then you just aren't sick enough.

Love these guys. Can't wait to hear the full album come March 8! This first single is a fucking banger!!!

Lol even more unlikely than Morbid Saint's return... Sludge/Stoner legends Toadliquor came back out of nowhere and just released a new album after a 30 year hiatus!!

Carlos Cruz from Warbringer IMO is one of the best Thrash drummers out there right now. He sat in with Fugitive, which is kind of a Power Trip offshoot.

Also one of the nicest dudes to talk to. I always make a point to hang out and chop it up with him after Warbringer shows and he always remembers me.

In related news, POWER TRIP is going to start doing shows again and have announced a few already, using the front man from Fugitive. As much as I miss Riley, the show must go on and he's a great replacement.

I have become a pretty big Warbringer fan i think because of this thread. Just great blackened thrash metal. I am only really familiar with the last two records though. Will keep digging into the catalog for sure doe. I have heard a bit of Power Trip and fugitive both pretty decent gotta listen to more though.

Also Carlos has that Lars Ulrich thing going on as he is the main composer for the band now. He's the guy that takes all the ideas and puts them together just like Lars does. I guess the big difference there would be that Carlos also write a ton of stuff on guitar as well so he's like a secret weapon of sorts. That happens in a lot of bands where people don't realise certain people are multi instrumentalists. I always think thats kinda cool. Usually more common with singers but for drummers Charlie Bennante write a ton of the Anthrax riffs and always has, but they suck so who cares. :p

All of the Warbringer albums are great. The most recent two are a bit more dynamic in style while the older stuff is a bit more direct in your face Thrash. I'd recommend checking out Worlds Torn Asunder, it's my favorite of the older ones.

Power Trip/Fugitive kind of make music that all sounds the same, but it's all awesome. Just non stop drive and killer groove.

Yeah Carlos is a musical genius. He really upped the level of Warbringer from the moment he joined the band.

Should be noted though that John Kevill brings a lot when it comes to the lyrical content. He's a big history guy and is highly intelligent.

Cool shot I got at the last Warbringer show I went to:

he also did some session work with Machine Head he's on drums for these two songs. He's not in the vid because he only recorded it.

yeah he seems to be a great well rounded musician. Not sure if you know about this website but its a great source of info for bands.
