Metal/Rock/Industrial The metal thread \m/

Anyone listening to High on Fire? This song is a bit older now but I love it.

Thanks. Just checked out BTMTW. Not too shabby.

We tried to sign Anaal Nathrakh to Relapse after the The Codex Necro but couldn't work it out.

Loved the Codex Necro, well all the old stuff , newer stuff takes a bit longer for me to get into

Love the band. Without Des though they just aren't the same. Pike gets all the love, but that band's secret weapon was drumming.

Sweden has produced some really amazing fuzzed out Stoner Metal

that spiritual beggars album is dirty and its great, the song writing doesn't really capture me but the feel and the expression of what they were trying to convey was damn near perfect

Yeah, that is one of the main issues I have with a lot of bands in the doom genre and especially the more stoner side of things is that while the music itself is amazing a lot of the time the lyrics aren't that great. Some bands though have the whole package on lock down.

the three piece band Spaceslug from Poland who formed in 2015 are one of those bands. I found out about them early last year and they are my new favorite band. This is Half-Moon Burns from the latest EP Reign Of The Orion released in December of last year.

3 full length albums
Lemanis (2016), Time Travel Dillema (2017), and Eye The Tide (2018)

2 EP's
Mountains & Reminiscence (2017) and Reign Of The Orion (2019)

4 Way Split EP wth Dopelord, Weedpecker and Major Kong (2019)

Also featured on the 2018 album The Wall (Redux) featuring groups like the Melvins doing covers of Pink Floyd's The Wall album. They recorded Don't Leave Me Now.

They are one of the few bands in the Doom genre who don't have a single weakness. Everything from the music, lyrics and singing is on point.

Love the Slayeresque riffing and drumming.

the first album of 2020 to make me sweat

Nice atmosphere before busting into the full-on Swede-ophile assault. I don't know the band. Is that a chick singing? Will be alot cooler if it is.

i don’t think it’s a female vocalist, but i can’t find a lineup anywhere to confirm.

殒煞 are a fresh institution that forges black metal with traditional Chinese folk music elements. Established in the spring of 2019, 殒煞 completed the writing of the first track "慟啸", which was included in the compilation CD of new wave of Chinese black metal "Death Kult Over Black Congregation" released via Pest Productions. The band quickly gained wider attention in and outside of China based on this excellent single with desolate atmosphere.

殒煞 now return with a 36-minute self-titled conceptual album. The consecutive six chapters describe a story of eastern swordsmen concerning war, conspiracy, betrayal and revenge.
this is pretty much the only information i have

Not as into just metal anymore, and behind the times compared to most of you all. Just wanted to know what bands got you into metal? Doesn’t need to be your favorites, just like seeing how people from different places got into it. Like a time capsule into a different time and place.

Almost like a game, where we can try and guess from what place and time it was when you got into metal. Here is a few of mine, for shits and giggles

Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" started me down the rabbit hole. After that it was Mercyful Fate's "Melissa" and Metallica's "Ride The Lightning". Next came Venom, Slayer, Destruction, and Celtic Frost.
