Metal/Rock/Industrial The metal thread \m/

Btw did you guys know that when At the gates was recording slaughter of the soul, during a break they ran into King Diamond guitarist Andy Laroque at a record shop and they asked him right then and there to play a solo on the record.

1:54 is what he came up with. Off the top of his head.

Guitar GOD

For real that over produced sound just snips the balls right out of the music.

What self respecting banger wanna have sugary sweet accessible sounding stuff that even the Christians will wanna listen to??

@BEATDOWNS that's who.

The real devotees, the ones who serve the master, in Hell, will just hear that crazy noise at the start of Black Metal and just immediately buy the record, based on that, before the guitars even fade in.

Oh you….

I do agree with most of this. Especially with like tech-death stuff. Just too clean and processed sounding. Like it was churned out in some nerd factory.

I like the sound of early Venom early Metallica early Slayer early Judas Priest that doesn't mean i have to like every shitty black metal band that recorded their albums in their momma's wine cellar. lol I bet you think pig squeals sound good and cool too I don't listen to anything with that garbage in it either.

I hate tech death but love old school death metal. Essentially for me what I say is if it doesn't have some groove to it I don't like it and OSDM grooves like a mofo I have no interest in hearing 40 min of straight blast beats, I get it you can play fast. I like when that stuff is just kinda peppered in here and there makes it more impressive and special.

Yeah there's an edge that is just taken away from it. That's not what this shit is about!!!

How can Lucifer and his legions be roused from the places below with this plastic crap???

Best to be armed w the good raw stuff

I like all that lolol. The more unappealing it is to the masses, the more I would probably dig it. Maybe not as far as say, Emit, but I like the weird and bad sounding stuff a lot.

I got around to checking out the new Misfire album and it's super solid Thrash. Nothing overly creative or groundbreaking just some crunchy riffs, catchy chorus' and fun:

Just learned that Wes Hauch (Alluvial) has replaced Brandon Ellis in The Black Dahlia Murder... interesting choice the dude can shred.

Wes can definitely shred indeed plus has killer taste in guitars

Also no Brian for their next two shows, Guy Kozowyk from the Red Chord is filling in (immense vocalist in his own right)

dude learned a shitload of songs in like a couple days and doesn't get this gig. sucks.
Yeah it does but we don't know the reasoning yet he could have said no to it. Will have to look into this Nick guy and give him fair shot I guess.

Weird he knows Uncle Ben
