Both good but T2.
One of the greatest endings ever. People like to rip on Arnold's acting, but that was some heavy shit.

Terminator 2, by a good margin.
The Matrix is a great film but it can't beat the best action film ever made.
-Better pacing, the matrix spends the first half introducing you to the rules and the world, meanwhile T2 straight up establishes itself as a sequel
- Better action scenes, the truck chase, galleria, cyber system etc
- Arnie > Keanu, just a more likeable character
- Better character arcs
- Better ending, the emotional sacrifice of the T1000
- Better directing
- More fun, and rewatchable
I’d put T1 above The Matrix aswell.

I've thought about this a lot, because i love both movies and in the space they occupy they are both near perfect movies.
But T2 always comes up as the winner.
Id give T2 a 9.6 and Matrix a 9.1

Im gonna go with the matrix. To someone thats never seen either, matrix is a mind fuck. Plus, seeing regular actors doing martial arts choreography and looking good doing it is nuts. Quite the unpredictable story.
T2 is simpler but thank god for that. It works perfectly.
However, i always prefer T1 to T2. Id say because of my bias to horror, but its cuz i eventually noticed Cameron likes a lot of blue lighting in his backgrounds. You see it in T2, Abyss, True Lies. It takes me out cuz its a bit cheesy. For example, when the t1000 is beating arnold with a pipe, the music, and the spotlight behind them just kills me. We get it cameron, your favorite color is blue..
Maybe why that mediocre avatar hard on of his has so many blue people...
