It is not easy to pull off. Almost it’s own genre, really. Sitting here trying to think of comparable movies I’m coming up with maybe, Demolition Man, Face Off, Starship Troopers, Beyond The Law (Charlie Sheen flick). I’m sure there’s more. I want to say Point Break, but it’s at least a step up in writing, probably.
One of my favorites that fits that description is 1992s FreeJack starring Emilio Estevez and Mick Jagger, what could go wrong ?

It really is a sweet spot. I think it's important in this type of movie that the participants know what kind of movie they're making and just have a good time with it and ham it up which makes it fun. I'll submit Con Air as a good example. Also most of Schwarzenegger's 80s work.
Con Air is a good one, though it feels like a Michel Bay movie, like it takes everything seriously and is more unintentionally terrible but great.
Arnold movies fit. Running Man for example.
Then there’s a lot of the best martial arts flicks (which I guess is what Road House is, really). Best OF The Best, Jackie Chan’s movies, etc.
I’d throw Big Trouble In Little China in for looking like the genre, but it’s too good, like they were going for so bad it’s great but it just ended up being awesome. The actors have a lot to do with that.

That av is award worthy imo

Cyrus the virus was the best part of Con Air.

Beyond the Law is a great bad movie...Michael Madsen at his best.

I would include a movie like Con Air as well...maybe several of the fast and furious films.

and fuck you...Point Break is a classic.

Was just biking home, stopped at a red light. I hear someone BLASTING 70's rock out of their car approaching from behind. I look back and see this really ghetto looking RV. I look inside, there must have been about 10-12 Hasidic Jews partying inside. I started dying lol, Gave them a big thumbs up and a salute and they waved back and loved it. This city is hilarious.
