I know one of the big criticisms is that mana is a hard limiter. Unless you're god at planning, you can't make a mana specific build that isn't either health or mana fucked until like level 40. You're either gonna go glass cannon or battlemage because you have no mana. Sneak crit bonus completely tilts in favor of range builds vs magic.

Remove mana from the equation though, and the mage becomes the best class in the game in damage output and utility. Being able to use Expert level Thunderbolt as a long range greeting is understated in how effective it is.

I do know I will spec some into magic shit just for the sake of being able to use those like Candlelight spells and shit so I can get rid of torches as well as to get top end enchantments on my gear. I just never have used the offensive spells and use the shouts for my offensive magic basically.

Try it out. Regardless of your playstyle, max enchantment is the lynchpin to the whole strategy. Even if you completely neglect magic, free casting means that you can very rapidly reach 100 in whatever schools you make free.

I choose Destruction and Restoration for offensive spells and wards. Heavy armor for the swords, wards for casters and dragons. Other hand is whatever flavor of expert spell I feel like murdering them with today. It's funny how you can hard counter late game enemies with an unbreakable ward. And shouts are magic so it works on dragons too.

It's Cyberpunk. One of the classes/roles is called a netrunner. In the cyberpunk world, they traverse the net, run jobs, and get info, but they also use viruses as offensive and defensive weapons.

When he says hiding behind a building hacking, in the game, you can use hacks like a netrunner as long as you have line of sight. Camera coverage generally means that you're hacking the cameras and scouting, unless you're far enough in the game that you can actually kill people with hacks.
