... or le Petit Prince.

As an elder statesmen of the war room, it's interesting to revisit a piece of literature that was around when I was a kid.

i had read it before, found it amusing, then had it lost in the archives of all the other literature I took in.

I re-read it recently and reenforce it's an absolutely brilliant piece of work. As fate would have it the author would die when he was shot down on his last reconnaissance mission in WW2. The morals of the stories, while not surviving the test of time in an ironclad position, still overall foster so much thought.

Tne overall message is the devastating effects of "close mindedness". Amazing that something that could theoretically pass as a child's book became so popular.

Close minded no good..

Be liberal with you life.....

Be liberal with yours sexuality , try men and women. Don't worry about disease. By ky

Be liberal with your money, buy what ever you want, rack up the credit cards, don't worry about debt.

Be liberal with your cities. Ignore overpopulation, lack of jobs, lack of school seats, or lack of resources.
Recklessly let everyone in.

Trust me...............conserve

You are halfway to a sonnet, and yet I am no closer to understanding.

What do you mean and what are you talking about?

Is "The Little Prince" a veiled socialist machination of the New World Order? I am not being sarcastic, that is my best guess.

Personally I feel it is an excellent story that tries to show the nearsightedness inherent in most human longings, and asks a few important questions about the nature of love and innocence.

Just one sting....

Can you give us a synopsis of the story so we dont have to read that whole darn thing?

I don't remember reading this, but it's far-off familiar to me. Will take another look.

"The Happy Prince" by Oscar Wilde is another fantastic short story with prince in the title, or rather, a gloriously hilarious as well as heartfelt reflection on love, commitment, and what we value in our hearts, on what in life matters, on what makes people and life real, good in the world...

I give it 5 Golden Bowies.

I remember being really impressed with it when I read it for the first time in university. Apparently it's a common gift between spouses when they get married.

It's got an obvious cleverness to it in regards to how it delivers its ideas. I was enjoying the cleverness as much as the message.

I've not read this yet but his non-fiction work "Wind, Sand and Stars" about his experiences as a pilot is outstanding. One of the best written books I think I've read.

I cooooould.

But it's like a picture book with little fat on it. I have to show you some tough love and say you have the read the whole thing word for word, and you will thank me for it in the end.

I mean, there's like a mountain of drivel on this site we all spend countless hours going through, and an all time brilliant piece of work that you don't want to spend some time on.

As the Little Prince would say, "The grown ups are very strange."

That was our 7th grade book report. I have a little prince inspired artwork that I submitted for conpetition. I lost. Bunch of close minded panel.
