This was a pointless rematch that no one asked for anyway. Waterson was already on a lengthy skid... one started by none other than Rodriguez herself not too long ago. I genuinely have no idea what purpose this fight served unless the UFC wanted to easily build Marina back up after being derailed or to offer Michelle some kind of consolation after that questionable Pinhero Decision.

Honestly, both girls should have been forced to play gatekeeper rather than fighting one another. Marina should have been booked against Pinheiro or Ricci while Waterson should have received a sizeable step down in competition fighting for her job against the likes of Karolina, Loma, McKenna, etc.

She's pretty much the WMMA version of Tony Ferguson. Both are 1-6 in their last 7 fights. The only difference is Tony has lost 6 in a row while Michelle had an SD win amongst all her losses.

Yes, good comparison. The Curran manslaughter on Warren is in a league of its own (in terms of clueless reffing), but the fight last night could and maybe should have been stopped on the feet, either by the ref or by Waterson's corner.

UFC and every org always trying to make a name off of someone, by absolutely brutalizing them into embarrassment, and it never works. i'm never a fan of the person who just supplied that beating. instead i actively hope that they get destroyed for the rest of their career for the crimes they have committed. feel bad for michelle waterson, if the UFC don't want her, then let her go. don't try to make a force name off of someone that no one is going to care about.
