Only naming I've seen that works with people still alive are rooms/wings named for hospital donations. A lot of times it may come from a deceased estate but also a lot of living people who may have something named as a result of the donation.

But I'm in full agreement that naming rights get decided after somebody is dead. We've seen the alternative and it generally comes from authoritarian shit-holes.

Dude drops some coin to build a new wing of a children's hospital or a new library at his alma mater, go for it.

I guess I'd amend my original statement that naming rights for taxpayer-funded institutions and/or buildings should be reserved for the deceased.

The other part I don’t get is watching the Sherdog Trump Defense Force defend it . No other President named shit after them while in Office, because America used to not be lead by a dude who would prefer to be a dictator of 3rd World Shithole Country.
The funny part about the Sherdog Trump Defense Force is it includes immigrants. I think ICE needs to crash a Sherdog Trump Defense Force meeting.
