It's a non issue that a guy with that mentality is President? You don't think it's also the reason he's sending troops to our own cities, tearing down the East Wing, installing allies that ignore Judicial rulings, etc...It's a shame, maybe a disgrace, that his base goes along with anything he does and makes excuses for him no matter how horrible his actions.

We probably got some of our best architecture out of those kind of self-aggrandizing "idols", but nobody has the patience for it anymore or wants to see such wanton self-indulgence. I know I don't. Maybe I'd forgive Trump if he created something really impressive or useful, like they still do in places like Dubai, but yeah. Renaming shit, hanging pictures of yourself outside buildings, and modifying the pre-existing White House kinda shows he has no good ideas - he's just interfering in shit he should leave alone, I hope @fedoriswar37 is right though and he's erased and forgotten as soon as the next President walks in.

Just for the record, when I said "impressive or useful" I was specifically thinking of the Burj Khalifa, which isn't useful, but is pretty impressive even if the city itself is very tacky.

I know they did some logical underground shit over there and in Saudi Arabia that's closer to being useful.

30% + of the country still approved him right after Jan 6th. This sort of stuff isn't going to lead to him losing much support. His approval rating is incredibly stable relative to past presidents. His supporters don't really give a shit how embarrassing he acts. If anything they enjoy it because it offends people.

But hus base is not really the one's who decide elections. Being less than a year into his presidency and actual pressing matters that need to be addressed I don't see too many non-MAGA being interested in this kind of stuff, or trolling other presidents when there are actual matters he should be putting his effort into. I can see this kind of stuff wearing thin in the context of now after a while.

Did I say I support it ? the tiresome outrage by bad orange man on the daily is not healthy I think. For this to rename it with his name to generate buzz " in recognition of Trump's claimed efforts to revitalize the institution." So to get attention for it is a dumb tacky move by a guy thinking like a business man. I believe congress can intervene and legal action can be taken to stop it. I don't want his name on it...
