The Jordan Peterson Thread - V2 -

Whenever the money comment comes up in a Peterson conversation I wonder if the commenter knows the chain of events that led Peterson into the limelight. The guy lost a bunch of weight and was a complete nervous wreck when this all started. If it's all an act then he could have bypassed Weinsteins dick and made it big in Hollywood.

If all you hear is "clean your room" when listening to Peterson then I don't know what to tell you. Yeah, he covers ground from the most basic of things upwards, and some of his ideas are questionable (same as with anyone), but there is content worth listening to as well. To dismiss him outright as "an opportunistic snakeoil salesman" is way off base imo.

Or just look at his lectures from well before he took a stand on bill C16 which brought peoples attention.

The only people who think he's somehow not genuine are people who are unfamiliar with him. I can understand being skeptical of anyone who gains any sort of notoriety in this day and age, but Peterson passes that smell test with flying colors. You won't find many people with more integrity IMO.

I completely agree.

That was EPIC.

Jordan Peterson's book is selling well. I bought it on January 19th, 2018 from Chapters.

Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre apologizes over how it handled Jordan Peterson event

Just days after it emerged that Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre would not be hosting an event for controversial University of Toronto psychology professor Jordan Peterson, the theatre has issued an apology about how it dealt with the proposed lecture.

Late Friday afternoon, a post appeared on the Citadel Theatre’s Facebook page saying the venue “could have handled the Dr. Jordan Peterson rental situation in a far better way.”

Being in Edmonton I had heard about what the Citadel had done, those fuckers. Not surprised though, the Edmonton theatre seeing is very LGBTQ2XZ** dominated such that I wouldn't be surprised if the event has protesters outside of it.

Didn't know he'd found another venue though; guess it's sold out though and I've missed my chance to go see him. Too bad. Maybe for the best, if a riot breaks out I wouldn't want to get beat down by some Xurs.

A lesson in patience. Well worth a watch.

Newman got handled so bad in that Interview that they had to pull the tired cliched "OMG death threats" tactic. Which has only fueled the popularity of the interview further. 2+ million views now.

I found it interesting/horrifying that the Rainbow Group (? coalition) says that it is transphobic for that group to have to show evidence to back up their claims of increased violence they say happened since she showed that video in class. According to Lindsay, she ask about campus police reports and there weren't any. Then she asked for evidence of this increased violence and that was called transphobic.

It's really sad, I don't think Lindsay asked for any of this. She's simply rising to the occasion and standing up for herself on a national platform.

She's still being victimized by the sound of it, with the rainbow cult citing they don't have to produce evidence for their claims. Clearly the atmosphere at that university is tolerant of that kind of silliness to the point where Lindsay Shephard has to appeal to the public on the news, to expose it.

He isn't a dumbass at all, however if a grown man need to pay another grown man to tell them to "clean their rooms" I'm not sure they're getting much value out of their dollar. Peterson is about making money first a foremost, not setting some sort of social precedent.
You sound like the broad in the video he completely dismantled who kept trying to mischaracterize what he was saying.

If the only thing that resonated with you out of all his lectures/books is "clean your room" you are either a dumb ass or you do Infact need to clean your room.

That was horrific. That hideous woman tried to twist every single thing that Peterson said.

She was absolutely delusional, literally every "you're telling me..." was either a gross exaggeration of Jordans words or taken so far out of context it was actually impressive.

His poiese handling her was impressive, even her supporters could see her emotionally charged arguments were paper thin in the face of a actual scientific based approach.

I think the host is used to getting her guests emotional and off-topic by being aggressive and deliberately twisting people's words. It did not work against Peterson who maintained his cool and even appeared to be enjoying himself at times. I have never seen him laugh and smile so much.

I remember watching one video where Peterson went to Ryerson U. and was hounded by A group of SJWs just chanting and screaming during his lecture. He kept his calm the whole time and eventually found a solution by giving his lecture outside.

When asked about it, I remember him saying something along the lines that it is paramount to keep your emotions in check. Losing your cool shows that "they" are winning.

They want you to become emotional. So never show them what they want to see. Eventually you'll even break them as they become frustrated at your stone cold logical mannerisms.

I think the laughter and smiles were him diffusing stress and annoyance. The rest of his posture did not say comfort to outside of his gotcha moment. He crushed her though.

And what profound lessons have you learned from Peterson?

If I had do condense it he has a way of describing the human condition in the most elequant, logical manner I have seen yet. He doesn't pollute it with identity politics and he stands up for free speech challenging rediculous legislation by articulating the implications of such moronic things.

The fact that he is taking on a fringe element of the academic left is simply the cherry on the cake.

The lady (channel four interview) interviewing the professor.. is.. ehmm.. well quite bad at understanding what he's saying. And was constantly attempting to misconstrue it.

I'm not a right wing person, or an alt righter, or even a mens right activist, but I do value rational thought, and reason, and the lady doing the interview projected none of this. If this channel 4, employee is the leading interviewer for persons of note, viewers are going to come out poor in terms of getting to the meat of the information the subject presents. The professor showed remarkable patience, I would've at least drummed the table with my fingers, to let out some form of aggression at the constant attempt of trying to misrepresent the information given.
