I hoped it would to but I gotta say... I respect the fact he actually took a fight against Little Fury and even moreso that he actually chose to fight again afterwards for any fight other than a rematch. Maybe because he can try and market it as he never lost cause it was a split decision but either way, least he's sticking to it and this is coming from someone who absolutely cannot stand Jake, his fights sucked, he picks on old men who are way smaller than him and/or in their 40s aside from the Fury fight and that was only because Tommy was the only bigger name he thought he had a chance against because he's mainly got popularity via his brother rather than his actual skill.

Now it's back to fighting over the hill welterweights(lightweight in this case LOL) who are just grateful for a decent paycheck for the first time in their life.

Well, in Nate's case... He has gotten paid decent multiple times. (A whole two i'm assuming?)

That's what all boxers who lack experience do if anything he is taking much more risk than typical boxers with no amateur experience. You write on a combat sport forum and don't even understand something this basic? Lol

Maybe he should have fought in the ammys for a bit, instead of paying off whoever the hell he had to start off his "career" as a profession? You know, like everyone else.

Jake Paul was also never supposed to win a single fight, but through God all things are possible...so jot that down.
 
Is there a reason why they didn't bring a crowd in? Or will there be crowds later on? I'm assuming Diaz will have the crowd advantage .Everything about this press conference was s***** lol.

Jake Paul spoke very well for himself however I don't think that's what fans want to see. Another thing I hate is how hes always parading around about his accomplishments in boxing. What accomplishments exactly? Yes people did underestimate him against 40 something year old former UFC fighters but that s*** has run its course.

Nate Diaz ain't even trying to sell this circus and he thinks a UFC title shot is in the picture lol.

Projection much? Wow. Jake has been boxing for 3 years, 5 years if you count his amateur fight. Nate has never had a boxing match. Tell me how many well-known boxers were fighting old/washed guys from other sports with zero boxing matches when they were 3 to 5 years into their careers. You write on a combat sport forum and don't even understand something this basic? Please come back with something that demonstrates more the 60 IQ points.

Sugar Ray Leonard was fighting and finishing Floyd Mayweather Sr. in his 2nd year of pro boxing, as just one example.
 
Unfortunately i think the CTE is going to be very real down the road for Nate. It already is.

But, I guess the man has provided for his wife and family for generations.

He sacrificed himself to do it.

Question is, is it worth it?

But if you actually look at the level of competitiveness that each of his fights has brought

It's really been a perfect build up

I think it's just difficult to quantify where someone like Woodley or Silva would equate to in terms of level of boxing, relative to a low level pure amateur or something.

But when you look at his career trajectory in less of a linear way, these opponents could still box, had decades of fighting experience and presented very real challenges. Very similar to ones he might face against some no name boxer of a lower level.

But again, it's hard to quantify and make those comparisons because we're talking about different sports and aged athletes.

He was challenged against all of his opponents, but within reason.

So, I think that should be focused on more than their ages.

Comparatively speaking, most pro boxers will fight tomato cans for 10-15 fights. You could name countless pure boxers currently fighting who have been challenged far less than Jake has in their first few fights.

So, yeah. I think that's the prevailing truth here. All due respect, you and others with this similar train of logic are focusing on the wrong things.

He's being challenged and tested. Which is reasonable for his level of experience. Even more so, when you consider the Fury fight and the fact that they've been trying to make it for 2 years.

They're obviously trying to sell fights. Which means they need names. But I don't think they're out here looking for easy fights.

I know what you're saying but I think you need to consider the bigger picture and be a bit more open minded. Because this situation has never taken place before in combat history.

So, examples like you're trying to make simply don't work. You have to look at the actual fights, skills shown and the level of which he's actually being tested.
