I think that in some circles, mukbang is more of a cultural thing than a sexual fetish.
Seeing North Korean escapees for example, who grew up on different foods to us, eat our food and reacting to it, does have its value. These type of videos tend to have the eater telling stories as well.
A different version of this would be seeing Japanese people eating marmite and liquorice, which to them, reminds them of medicine, though that's more of a prank from what I've watched.
