Gilliam claims he "still hasn't figured out" what the markings mean. In the original script it was said that the bricks found in Tony's pocket had identical markings and it all seems to confirm the omen he had just seconds before the troupe finds Tony. If you use the zoom feature on your DVD player you can see a couple of those markings on the tarot card too."

Interesting. It's eerie to see him hanging from the bridge with those marks given his passing not soon after.
