"Appropriation" itself is harmful. But if you are merely appreciating aspects of another culture, I see no harm in it, especially since we live in a multicultural society where cultures and practices are shared.

I'm definitely on board with you there. There are instances where, regardless of one's leaning, people can agree that appropriation is harmful. Intent and respect come into play a lot.
