The GSP fight is the only option Dana has to keep Khabib

Yep, it's GSP or retirement. Just make the GSP fight and forget about what's next, as there is no next for either. Both are fine with not fighting, so why not make one last big fight? Everyone wins.

GSP vs Khabib would be one of the biggest MMA fights of all time, the UFC would be morons not to make it if they can since neither guy will fight anyone else.
 
If Khabib is less obedient to his mother, than yes the fight will happen, and hell maybe we get 4 more fights outta him. If he doesnt chicken out before the gsp fight.

This. GSP has already secured his legacy. He has nothing to prove to anyone by fighting down a weight class. Khabib, on the hand, does a lot more for his legacy by potentially beating a GOAT at the GOAT's own division.

In other words, if GSP loses to Khabib at 155, the built in excuse is that the cut was too much for a fighter his age. If Khabib beats GSP at 170lbs? That GREATLY adds to his legend.
 
Khabib ain't coming back. If he wanted a money fight he could just wait for Conor and fight him again. Easy win and more money than a GSP fight which Khabib would probably lose. Khabib beats GSP at lightweight, but at Welterweight, GSP will Koscheck him. Moving up a division to fight larger fighter is hard enough, but moving up a division to fight the WW GOAT for your first fight there is career suicide.

Many fighters become champions but only a few fighters can say they were an undefeated champion. Boxing has Rocky Marciano, Ricardo Lopez, Joe Calzaghe, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Andre Ward and now MMA has Khabib Nurmagomedov.

basically that's it. Checking if Khabib can beat GSP is enough, we don't need to know if GSP can make 155, and there is no need for a belt involved.

If Khabib were to win it wouldn’t do shit for his legacy. GSP is far from his prime and is not a LW.

if Khabib wanted one more for 30-0 and to cement his legacy- why not fight Usman at WW? Now that is an intriguing matchup.

GSP is water fasting to lessen his colitis symptoms, not to test if he can make 155.

I didn’t know that. I can see why it would be a fight that Khabib would want then.

I still am not interested and don’t see what it would possibly do for Khabib’s legacy.

For GSP it’s a no risk fight. He should lose. So, if he were to somehow pull it off, it would be absolutely epic and leave zero doubt that he is the GOAT.
