Who do you think is the GOAT American Mixed Martial Artist? If Hendo were to retire after the win over Lombard has he done enough to secure the title of greatest American MMA fighter? Will he be surpassed by one of these other fighters or has he already?

Hendo

You got to go with JBJ, his record is damn near flawless, and he arguably could be HW Champion right now too, also he would have already broken Silva's title record if not for the legal problems, and the dude isn't even 30 yet, love him or hate him, he is the GOAT (unless he loses to DC)

Anyone with the most native blood.

So probably Hendo.

& I honestly don't think anyone on
that list would disagree, either.

This is just wanking lol. Arguably could be HW champion? Even tho hes never fought at the weight?

Could Jose have arguably been the LW champion after he beat Frankie?

Also if Bones was the GOAT he would be cemented enough that a loss to DC wouldnt put him out of GOAT status. Hes the LHW GOAT but has work to do to be p4p GOAT

Dan Henderson is literally Captain America, so probably him

My heart said Randy Couture, but my brain said Jon Jones so I went with that.

Still, what Hendo has been able to accomplish has been nothing short of spectacular. Especially his very late year wins. Last night was especially surprising. I did not see Hendo winning that fight even 1x out of 10.

What no Chuck Norris? he's a martial artist who's mixed styles

What about Tim Kennedy? he's a martial artist who's a great American

Ok... Daniel Cormier, I'm pretty sure was ranked like 6-7th? and was undefeated at Heavyweight when he dropped down, for the sole purpose of avoiding Cain. Jones whipped DC, so its not a big leap to say he could beat Stipe right now, I'm certain he would be the favorite in that fight....

If DC beats Jones, his status drops, because then DC would be the number 1 american martial artist

Edit: Also if you want to bring up Aldo, he was the favorite against Edgar, and probably would have been favored over Benson Henderson too. When people were discussing he and Pettis fighting, many believed Aldo would win that fight (myself included). I don't think saying Jones could be HW champion right now, is really a stretch.

Hendo followed by JJ. If JJ is slayin fool when hes 45 ill be impressed.

Stipe is a pretty bad matchup for Bones. Far better boxing, footwork and great wrestling to counter Bones. Unlike Gus, Stipe has a very good clinch game too. Plus a massive edge in power, Bones would be one of the least powerful HWs and wouldnt be as threatening physically, hes thicker/bigger than Bones as well.

Again youre just assuming too much lol. Its pretty ridiculous TBH. "Jones whipped DC, so its not a big leap to say he could beat Stipe right now" lol what?? Theyre completely different fighters and DC isnt a better HW than Stipe is. Jose beat Frankie when he was a top 2 LW, but saying Jose could arguably be the LW champ too is just assumption/wanking

No DC would not be close to being the #1 American even with beating Bones. It would catapult him up but he doesnt have the body of work unless youre unaware of what some of these other guys have done throughout their careers as a whole

Chuck Liddell is the greatest 'Murican mixed martial artist.

I really don't understand how your not making this connection.

Jones has stated interest in moving up to HW in the past, and (I guess you don't) but many people believe he would be successful, you are also "wanking/speculating" that Stipe would beat Jones..

If you want to put Hendo first I understand, but DC would probably trade spots with Jones if he won given that Jones is his only loss. Jose would have had a decent chance at beating Bendo at the time, and I stand by that statement, as it wasn't really that crazy to think.

Edit: Also, I knew Nate Diaz would school Conor, and I realize that fighters who move up rarely can beat top competition.
