Not actually perfect, since I looked at these type of things to close the small gap I have, but all the girls actually find it endearing, so it stayed.
These retainers and such do look exactly the same, 20 years later. It’s crazy how right you are about it.

My dentist said my gums recede because I clench my teeth at night, which causes them to move ever so slightly, and that movement somehow detaches the gums and causes them to recede.

Sounds like bullshit to me but I don't have a better explanation.

I do know the solution though. Get one of these:

When I was a kid and got my braces off they gave me retainers. At first I had that thick pink plastic with a wire but then after a few months they gave me new ones that were just thin clear plastic. They looked like this:

Then I grew up and my kids needed braces. But by this time a revolutionary new type of braces has come out. They were called invisalign. They looked like this:

Fast forward a few years and the dentist talks my wife into buying special bleaching trays to whiten her teeth. Guess what the bleaching trays looked like? You guessed it:

So I said sure, why not. I'll buy it.

There is rumours that there’s a way to prevent cavities but the dental mafia has been working on preventing any such thing.

I grind at night. I sleep with a mouth piece. Same thing as the night guard pretty much. No complaints.

The dentist prevents cavities and the same plaque in your mouth clogs your arteries. That and the Covid 19 shot.
