Out of place Italy part? He had to leave the country after killing 2 people lol

That doesnt change the fact that it drags the movie to a halt and completely feels out of place in the cinematic flow of the amazing story
I think a lot of people(not you) forget that part when they talk about how great the movie is, they only remember all the New York action scenes and forget that dull ass countryside nonsense
Its like Full Metal Jacket, everyone remembers the first half where its rocking and rolling but they forget the less than stellar second half

I find these three barley related films, but due to the casting, of course tied in completely.

Heat is a fantastic, incredibly well structured plot from Heist to shoot-out and the fallout thereafter. When I saw it, I was blown away by the "realism". Of course it had a soundtrack but was quite raw. It felt more natural in its circumstances.

Scarface is a tragedy and super well acted but is of course a stand-alone fall-from-grace gangsterdom movie. It moved me. I think it's perfectly put together as a gangster movie and is in its own class but the overall acting, plot and supporting cast doesn't stand close to Heat.

Godfather was groundbreaking and well put together. I still love it but is not utterly engaging for many. The cast and setting are brilliant. A very smart movie but again, it doesn't have the realism (regardless of age) that Heat has.

The Godfather in the running for best movie ever.

This isn't close actually.

Having never seen Pacino before did help.

I don't feel it's out of place at all. Michael goes to Sicily and that's where Vito started, then when he returns to America he becomes the acting head of the family. In a way it's Michael becoming Vito.

That's my deep look into it. Thing is Michael had to leave America because Sicily was the only place he would be protected until the heat went away. He killed a Police Captain, he had to leave the country.

What is dumb is Tony Montana throwing away his entire empire/starting a war with Sosa over a kid/woman he doesn't know.

All of his problems gone wiped away and instead he doesn't want to kill a kid and woman (which he isn't the one killing them, he's driving) just because why? His wife can't have a baby? Lol

All of the charges gone, no jail, he can continue to rule his drug empire and he says nope lol

That's a pretty tough choice. I would certanly put Heat at number three...number one and two woud depend on what I watched more recently. I just watched Scarface again a couple of days ago and currently it's
1. Scarface
2. The Godfather
3. Heat

Im not talking about the actual story, Im talking about the way it was presented on film, we all know why Michael went to Sicily but the way its shown to us is slow and boring and uninteresting, it does not match the slick tone of the rest of the film, its out of place and drags down the score of the movie

Maybe someone should remake that pile of trash and get it right this time!

Lol I don't think its does but yeah maybe they should. Maybe hire real Italians this time.

I don't think Heat deserves to be mentioned with the other two, maybe could say the same about Scarface and Godfather

Godfather by all outside . Though Heat is a great heist movie . Pacino ober cooks it even for him but Denerio is near his best in Heat. Maybe Denerios last truly great performance.

Scarface is great in moments and just silly in others but prime young Pfieffer was nice

Obviously I'm a Heat advocate and it's one of my favourites so that's number 1 for me.

Godfather is a masterpiece that I can recognise but I'm not overly fond of, but I can see why people love it.

Scarface (as said already) for me was over the top and I don't think I've seen it in 20 years or more as I didn't really like it.

Goodfellas is better than all of them.

I actually also really enjoyed a Bronx Tale.
