Crime The Gabby Petito case.

So yes, story is scary and tragic and hopefully there somehow is a good or ok outcome for it. 22 year old girl has gone missing in Grand Teton National park. She was on a cross country road trip with her boyfriend. The boyfriend returned home without her earlier this month, won't talk with authorities, and the family reported her missing over the weekend. August 12th there was a domestic incident between Gabby and her boyfriend, police body cam makes it seem the girl was the aggressor. Boyfriend looks hella guilty, but police not ruling out it being related to a double homicide at a MOAB campsite around that time.

I am seeing it EVERYWHERE tho. Every Local news station running multiple articles a day. MSN homepage on new tabs at work. There are how many missing persons/suspected deceased cases in America, and why is this one so prominent all around? CNN and FOX both have it as website homepage stories.

#1 - It's an intriguing story with an obviously guilty asshat boyfriend
#2 - She's kind of a young hot blond.... Well, kind of hot.

Most missing people don't have the storyline... they just disappear. . There isn't build up of a couple traveling around the country, well documented on social media beforehand.

The boyfriend’s actions of returning home without her, staying silent, and getting a lawyer is what interests me. Did he not know how guilty that makes him look?

On the flip side, George Zimmerman fully cooperated with police. After 5 hours of questioning he was released.

After six weeks of public outcry, he was charged with murder by a special prosecutor appointed by Gov. Scott.

Zimmerman's trial lasted 5 weeks and he was acquitted of all charges, but only after having spent a lot of money on a lawyer to defend himself.

He was also investigated by the DOJ for three years for charges that he violated Martin's civil rights.

When push came to shove, his initial full cooperation did him no good.

Same reason Natalie Hollaway and Lacy Peterson were. They're good looking white girls.

Yes it's missing white girl syndrome with how crimes against white women are covered more etc.

But this one has alot of intriguing circumstances and an easily painted villain in the boyfriend

Yeah. He looks guilty as hell, and I'd bet he is guilty

But if he's innocent, even though this is making him look guilty to the court of public opinion, this is his only chance of staying innocent. So I can't hate him for being smart about it. Just hope the police do their job and get to the bottom of this, whatever it is.
The POS is either guilt of actively causing her demise or guilty of not doing anything when he realized she was missing. Any normal human being would call the police and alert people when their companion is missing. This guy does neither, and refused to help the missing girl's family. Either way he is a POS.

How old are you? Do you not remember Elizabeth Smart and Natalie Holloway?
A Peruvian girl went missing around the same time. What was that big headed third world Peruvian bitches name?

Because she's a beautiful blonde, Caucasian girl.

I don't usually pay much attention to these stories because they are just too depressing but I've been following this one pretty closely because the way that it is playing out with the fiance is just so fucking bizarre.

And now the detectives are investigating whether this case is connected to the double homicide of what appears to be two lesbian hippies that occurred in the same area around the same time. This just gets weirder and weirder.

It makes him smart actually. The kid did his homework. I'd rather look guilty than be found guilty.

The boyfriend is dumb. He went home and it was only one week later that the girl's parents independently called police to report her missing. Like that idiot was just sitting in his house, acting like nothing had happened. No call to police to report his girlfriend missing, no conversation with friends or family about what had happened, no show of concern, nothing. When they say remain silent, that's not what they mean.

Any touch point from him with anyone about what happened could be used against him in court. Acting “suspicious” isn’t concrete evidence. Saying something by accident that implicates you or shows you’re lying, could be compelling evidence. The fact that he hasn’t said a single word to anyone means that his lawyers can sit back and wait for all the discovery evidence and then simply craft a story that doesn’t contradict the evidence. This is a dream scenario for any defense lawyer.

I’m thinking if they find her, he’s cooked. If they don’t, he’s getting away with it.

You're not understanding the nuance between saying nothing in a police interrogation (smart) vs. what the boyfriend did (not smart). Criminal trials have a jury and the suspect's bizarre, unempathetic behaviour will be showcased and analysed. Without evidence, nothing ever happens. But if police finds evidence such as mobile records, debit / credit card purchases, blood, signs of a struggle or even the body, there's more than enough there for the jury to link the suspect's behaviour to the crime and convict.

Do we know if he left her because they broke up? If so, not hearing from her again would be wonderful, not a cause for concern.

I haven't followed all the facts here.

There aren't really many facts to follow. They left together and he came back alone and hasn't said a word since. The detectives have next to nothing to go on currently.

missing pretty white woman syndrome hello

Funny how thousands of people go missing every year, but the media basically exclusively covers the ones involving white people. particularly white girls

eventually .. what they really think comes out in certain stories
