Schools need to either encourage competition in sport BJJ, or MMA. If you do neither of those things, you're basically LARPing. Not everyone has to compete, but every school needs a core group of people who do to keep the rest honest. I don't believe that any school that enters no competitive arena over a long period of time will remain at a high standard, it's just too easy to let standards slip and have promotions and power structures become wholly political when you don't have competition to tell you where you truly stand.
 
The video had already been posted and had a huge thread on the first page when you posted this. My snark was justified
