There was GSP, Anderson, Jones, Cain, Aldo, Mighty Mouse, and Ronda. Now all we have left is Mighty Mouse.

Who do you think is the next guy to be a dominant champ?

I'm thinking Dom Cruz if he can stay healthy. Maybe Lawler. I guess Jones kind of counts if he gets his title back from Cormier.

What do you guys think?

I thought JDS was going to dominate for a long time.

Well to be fair, Ronda was fed cans while dodging anyone of talent. Cain only defended twice. But yes, generally the sport has evolved and we'll not likely see as many dominant champs as the overall field grows.

No doubt the bar raising in mma is shoring up weaknesses in fighters at the top.

The evo of mma is amazing to watch.

Cruz will rule his division for a long time and JBJ never lost his belt in a fight. But yeah, we won't see many GSPs and Anderson Silvas anytime soon

I still count Jones considering he never lost his belt in a fight.

Cruz has a right to claim dominance on that division because he was injured for 3 years and came back to beat the top guys pretty easily
