[Jun 21, 1997] - Japan Ariake Coliseum, Tokyo, Japan,
ALEXANDER FEDOROV vs ADILSON LIMA
Talk about a monument... Like Carlson in Brazil or Maeda in Japan...
Alexander Fedorov´s aura was still intact in 1997 when he asked (for sure after a few vodkas....) to fight BJJ Adilson Lima (who had previously beaten his student [tricky] Illyukhin).
That was his 1st & last fight inside the ring...
He was the original head-coach of Rings Russia, and taught sambo to pioneers like Volk Han, Kopylov, Zouev (in his corner here), etc... He even taught sambo to some Japanese fighters in Rings Japan (Yamamoto...)
Obviously out of shape... Would have been nice to see how lethal his technique was...
Still Got Game tho...
What a crazy idea, when ya think about it... But Maeda allowed it, completely bluffed by skill sets like Fedorov´s or Han´s...
Watch Maeda at ringside, tense...on his feet (he loved his chair @ ringside...)
They were all crazy badass mofos back then...
Fedorov left us in 2006. RIP & Hespect.
